Maybe in the next video we will even see a schematic diagram with scope probes connections ...and the whole broomstick

An effect I sought to remove   It's an inductor on the emitter so it floats dynamically; this causes a chirp (a ring pulse that is an increasing frequency)...


Is it a stepdown transformer?  So there's only low voltage applied to that kacher?

See; this is the problem of breaking things down to their components and seeing why it works (take elements and make life sorta)...

it would look like the transformer was just a power supply; but it's also a inductance, which most other replications have ommited in favor of a capacitance. (clip attached second)

The man who invented «качер» - Владимир Ильич бровин,  can not answer the question – «that there качер»?
His definition of "качер" includes all the the blocking oscillators with feedback ...
In Russian forums  many newbies make no distinction between blocking generator  and качер, they are referred generators -  качер ...
I think, that  Kacher is a special operating mode of the transistor. This mode is located before starting the avalanche breakdown transistor. IMHO

So; turns out the first schematic is not the intent... although connecting a coil in such a configuration at the emitter to ground did reduce power and increase output

look no 50Hz on the scope and bulbs which flash about a bit - again without a smooth 50Hz.

Good point if you know the horizontal timebase setting on that scope.
Indeed, 50Hz is hard to filter out completely.  Only fully-blown power supplies can accomplish that.
