Experiments go on and also do the theories: If we have a LC circuit at resonance then there are electrons in the wire of that circuit oscillating back and forth. What would happen if we inject additional electrons into the wire of that circuit? Will these additional electrons move along with the electrons already in the wire? If so, will this result in a higher current going through the load (e.g. the headphone)? If not, then up to which point will the electrons move when they are on the way from the ground?

An ordinary antenna hanging in the air can generate voltage with respect to the ground thus it attracts electrons from ground, but not very much. Nevertheless this little voltage is the FREE ENERGY that powers a Crystal Radio, not the energy coming from the radio transmitter. When the antenna is replaced by a high voltage source then this should attract a lot more electrons from the ground. Therefore a good idea would be to do something useful with these electrons (like routing them through a load), so they do not come in vain. :)

The antenna of a radio is directly connected to the resonant LC circuit, hence the antenna stays always in resonance with the circuit. The high voltage is not directly connected to the resonant circuit (direct connection or sparking would kill the high voltage), hence a method is needed to keep automatic resonance between the high voltage source and the LC circuit.

Soon there are lots of empty Christmas cookie tins around to experiment with. A self-running cookie tin would surely be a nice gift ... ;D

Addendum:

TK - saying that in the spark gap interruption happens 50 times in one seconds. He is saying that in the spark gap is 50 Hz

Yes, in other words he is saying that the high voltage is modulated by 50Hz, as I see this.

A good experiment would be to create a high voltage source and then switching that source on and off in dependency of a resonant LC circuit. When the circuit swings in one direction the high voltage is on and attracts additional electrons from ground. When the circuit swings in the other direction the high voltage goes off so the electrons can float back to the ground easily.

Of course putting a load in the electrons way while swinging would be a good idea too ... :)

Maybe this would be a good experiment to prove that electrons are not solely responsible for the electric current in a metal wire.

If the resistance of an isolated closed electric circuit increased after electrons were removed from it by a positive electrostatic charge, then it would be an indication to what extent free electrons are needed for an electric current to flow in a metal conductor.

interesting idea; how do you measure resistance without putting a current through the wire? (which would defeat having evacuated)

I have such idea of experiment : a power source of stable voltage and current, not changeable via the load conneted. I know there is possible to create constant current source but not sure if that source could have steady voltage.
However if that's possible then the circuit should contain an incandescent bulb with a luxmeter and a metalic plate connected in series to the circuit , maybe like a plate of capacitor (connection in the center. Then nearby the plate would be another plate forming a capacitor but that second plate connected to source of static HV positive. I think that circuit could satisfy the requirement of proposed test.

The idea is to "put current through the wire" while removing electrons from the wire, by an electrostatic generator such as the Wimshurst machine or Van de Graaf generator or Pelletron
For this, the power supply (e.g. a battery) would also have to be isolated (e.g. on an insulated platform).
The measurement of the current would also have to be done remotely, e.g. by light intensity or frequency (forest has the right ideas).

There is one little problem, though:
Namely to suck all of the free electrons out of 1cm3 of Copper, the electrostatic generator would need to transfer 13570 Coulombs of charge ;)
13570c is a huge number. It is equivalent to 3.77AmpHours (Ah), which means that it would take close to 4 hours at 1 Amp to transfer that much charge.  A 1 meter hollow metalic sphere having a charge of 13570c would have an electric potential at its surface equal to 244TV  :o
...but on a positive side, maybe even removing a fraction of the electrons would be sufficient to observe some change in resistance or current and for a practical experiment the volume of the conducting wire should be minimized, which means very thin wires or hollow wires (thin-walled tubes).  Smaller objects develop even higher voltages though, e.g. a 1mm sphere would develop 244PV with the same charge  :o   I don't think even MAGVID could achieve potentials like that...

hi,

I need help to know what is the capacitor C1 value found between pin 6 and pin 7 on I/C :CD4046.It's value seems distorted to me.

I noticed this PLL base circuit function is to optimize resonance to get maximum output. The best part there is no spark gap needed.

I have previously uploaded video on 1watt HHO generator base on this PLL I/C:4046,intentionally running on low input supply to observe HHO production and fine tune .What it does is find the best resonance to split water. youtube video user "sanjev21"

There is a patent describing a similar thing way back on one of these threads.

When I looked at the patent I thought immediately it could work.  I did try it but not properly, I did see it might have some potential if the lightning danger can be avoided.  :o
