John,

You need a small battery in parallel with the cap.  ;)

Actually a battery and bulb only would work as well, doesn't it :)

Yep Hoppy , fully agree. On other hand , do you want to see how fast you can charge caps with HV, just build Komarov's device. I have made one and it charge caps instantly. I can have the 220V 2W lite on one end and it still charge output cap quickly to HV (several hundreds-depends on input V). I bought several DC-DC converters and tried to connect them to the output cap. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Need to figure out how to take that energy from the cap and not to distress the system. The thick lines in the schematic is the copper sheet (2x )- I have used brass.

hi John.k1,

There is only 3 solution which i think at the same time.

1)spark gap 300volts...470volts....1000volts from capacitor. The other end of spark gap is going to a hv capacitor.Think of it like a reservoir.
2)SIDAC little costly than spark gap which trigger from 90volts....200volts....450volts....I use this for my 1 wire powered flash and also spark circuit .Circuit shown in my youtube video:sanjev21.
But can be used as well.

3)If you say you are able to light 2watt 220volts bulb from capacitor. Then a suitable resistor maybe 2watt rated can be used to charge a another capacitor at a slower rate depending on the circuit current draw.

But the most important thing is what was the current draw for the hv generator circuit after capacitor is charged up or during charging in progress.

-----------------------------------------------------
I did use disposable camera which can do 300volts DC even 400volts depending on the capacitor voltage rating.Once the capacitor voltage rating is hit it's internal current leakage goes up hence it will never get destroyed because disposable camera circuit transformer is of low current output.

disposable camera circuit-
80mA on 1.5volts AAA under no load.Under heavy load like pulsing from capacitor AAA battery can't handle hence it drops to 0.9volts at nearly 1Amps draw.
This is under 2watt with capacitor used for nanosecond pulsing.

   John.K and All:
And it normally doesn't work that way, as is shown in that diagram above, allowing it to self run itself. Otherwise it would have been shown to work like that, by now.
Just look at the work the Igor Moroz has been doing over the years, concerning the feed back paths, and trying to make any driver/coil device self run.
But obviously (at least to me), Nelson has found a way to get it to do just that, self run. And that is a VERY important point.
I do trust him, and wish him the best. And I appreciate him telling us (me) about trying out different driver options, and such.
Any other information, or your future improvement is more than welcome here.
But, I'm hoping that Nelson will reconsider, not get insulted by the boring naysayers, and leave us due to that.
That would be a real "bummer".  Indeed!

Not quite. The discharging cap needs to be switched into the battery and then the battery switched into the bulb via a DC-DC converter or inverter if a higher voltage is required.

Hi Hoppy, "switched" you mean "connected" or "switched" as pulse switched??

Nick, It "DOES" charge the cap rapidly to many hundreds ant it is a fact observed by myself. The question is what I can do with that.

I recall Doug Konzen stating you cannot pull load from the cap while the cap is still connected to the charging circuit.  The most practical solution he provided was to use two caps, one is engaged in charging; the other powering the load.  When the discharge cap falls below a certain voltage level, trigger a switching mechanism to swap the two capacitors electrically.

  John.K:
A working feed back path is the deal breaker, isn't it. Even if you can get more out than in, you have to know what to do with it.
That's what we are here to learn. Or not?

Pulse switched John but at a safe voltage level for the battery.

With capacitors if you put them inside of Tesla coil with right geometry they will get charged fast(that will be due strong electrical field radiation). You might to apply part of that in your playground and see how it goes... :)
Also there was different implementations in experimental setups and was experimented with 3 years ago by Delamorto and others.

Cheers!

How would it work without any a battery, then, such as we have just seen. Any diagrams showing something like that?
Just a start battery, one tap, and that's it and that's all.

Are you looking for this schematics ?

Yes that is the one i was thinking of, the question is did any one manage to get it to work ?

If you look at the realys it is a bit unclear how the relays are used and the coils on the armature apear to just shorted out by the relay contacts, does any one have a better drawing ? Oh and the Zero volt line goes no where, is it me ?

Hi Dog. I know. On other hand I thought when the charged cap is behind a bridge rectifier It would work. Switching from cap to load it is what destroyed my Arduino board an year ago. I might give it a try again. With more safety for circuit.

T-1000: what means Tesla coil of right geometry?  Actually, is it you who run the Lithuanian experiment time ago? ;)

But have we really just seen it working without any battery or other energy supply.  ??? We have seen plenty of diagrams showing tap and start with just a small battery.

Dear nelsonrochaa.

Let me explain how T-1000's usage of one word that appeared to be an insult to you could/should have been expressed.

"It's a great loss ", you cannot monetize it and all these people who tried to patent it and failed or tried to sell gone nowhere or was made to disappear with "committed suicide/got accident" titles.. Same mistake over and over again, when people will learn?

Anyway, the principle how to get generator self running is one on that topic and only time matters when someone will come out and just help everyone to improve lives then will benefit themselves from revolving technology all around and helping to heal planet from hundreds of years poisoning... Just my personal opinion here. "

I hope that clears things up a bit ?

I marvel at the camaraderie that has developed here, lets keep the ideas flowing.

Cheers Grum.
