HHO/electrolysis: converting gas generator?

Hi folks,

First off let me say I have no idea what I'm talking about here.

I can run my house with a battery bank and solar panels. I can use a gas/propane powered generator to charge the batteries when the sun isn't available. But what if I could skip the expensive solar panels and modify the generator to run on (or mostly on) water.

I've been looking at the water car stuff and it made me wonder if it was possible to use that idea to convert a gas generator in the same way. I mean, if you can set up a car engine with electrolysis and get far better mileage, couldn't you do the same to a generator and use that to charge a battery bank?

Has anyone tried?

I don't know if the Steve Meyers car really works or not. Intuition says it does. Like enlightened Jesuit priest Anthony DeMello said, "When everybody is saying the same thing, you can be sure they're wrong." I hear far too many saying free energy is not possible, so I have to believe it is.

What did you find? I am curious for the fact that is my exact plan, I don't have any solar panels or a battery bank yet though. I would like to know more about how you use your generator to charge the bank and other details. That is if you care to share...

Good luck with your findings. I have bought a starter kits for electrolysis myself. I will not use baking soda or salt to boost the production as the ampere is rising rapidly, clorine gasses is produced and the metal plates will be coverd with metals from the salts. I will use ordinary tap water and high voltage to generate HHO.

Roy McAllister's 5hp engine conversion looks pretty simple, but making the hydrogen (not to mention compressing it) doesn't appear to be a very economically sound option.

So far it looks like I would be best off making bio-diesel, but where I live, it would be hard to do all year round.

I'm still going over Steve Harris' other DVD with Roy doing a class on how to make hydrogen and store it. Might get some better ideas there. Apparently he talks about how to make hydrogen from organic waste and that sounds pretty interesting to me.

If anybody's got any other ideas about cheap fuel solutions, I'd love to hear them.

Great videos with Roy! I love the solar powered Stirling! How about trying out a GEET? They are super easy to build, and inexpensive too.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with Roy and his work. While I think Steve Harris needs a bit of an ego adjustment, he gave some good insight into what is, and is not possible (or should I say probable) to the DIY'er.

I downloaded the plans for the GEET a few days ago. Does it work?
I'll probably spend the night digging into more info on the GEET idea.
