« on: March 18, 2008, 10:40:29 PM »
how important is it to have "iron" as your coil core vs other magnetic ores like steel?

I can't find iron anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated

I woul think you could locate some iron rebar from cement pouring outfits.Where ever cement is poured.
Just ask at a construction site for some waste or trash rebar. Steel is made from iron so steel might be ok for your coils.I have used nails before.Triffid
