30 watts bulb with 9 v dc

guys i have a question , i ll be glad if u respond ..
is it normal to light a 30 watts bulb with a 9 volts 300 ma adapter ? i used two more electrical device in the line and the energy saving 30 watts bulb kind of lights , not completely but lets say halfway .. ( sorry for my English ) .. i ll try later to do the same with a 9 volts battery .. i almost know nothing about electricity but it seems a bit weird to me that the bulb gives light with a battery which is designed to work with 220 volts ..

What is the true output of the adapter and how have you measured it?
(Usually, it is higher than stated on the label.)

hi again .. should i say dc power supply maybe ? .. ok i ll write down what s written on it here ..

input:230v-50hz
output9v dc, 300ma

i tried it with another one with same output and it lights the 30 watts too .. then i tried a 20 watts bulb and it happens again ..
if this is something strange i ll take the picture of the other electric devices and how i connect them and send it to u ( i dont have a digital cam and it ll take a day or two to find one )

edit : ten min ago i tried it with a 3volts 300ma dc ps and the flourecant flickers again but this time it s a bit harder to find the correct gap i used to make sparks in the connection ..

ok at least can anyone tell me , if i take off the glass of the energy saving bulb and use a multimeter and take readings and find greater volt*a there, than it is at the ps , will this mean overunity ? ..and as i remember there were 4 wires connected to the glass part of the bulb so shall i just simply take the reading from those 4 wires or connect them to each other first and then something ? thank u ..

Hi tolga,

i'm sorry to say, but your observation is nothing myhstic.

You are using energy saveing lamps, these things are nothing other than electric circuits and a neon tube. The circuit transforms input to higher voltages to light the tube ...

Also, don't wonder about that less energy u are using to light the bulp, neon tubes are half as bright as normal with only mW's!

i see thank u but i use a negative ion generator and a multimeter to light it , it dont light with the 9v dc only .. is it possible the dc power suppy to give more than 9 volts and 300ma normally ? .. and this only happens when i make a half connection with the multimeter so it sparks otherwise with coplete touch it dont light either .. and it dont light if i use a cable instead of a multimeter in line and even if i connect a 3volts torchlamp bulb it dont light again .. so many things come togather to have an effect .. so can u tell me , if i measure the input and the output and if there is a watt difference at the output is it overunity ?

When you did your mesurements correctly (and thats often the biggest problem) and there is more output than input, yes, than you could have a special effect ...

please post some more details e.g. a circuit picture or something other that helps us to better understand what you are exactly doing  ;)

actually i dont know what i m doing very well : ) .. and i cant make measurements because i use the only multimeter i have in the circuit and even if i have one other ( i can find one more ) how shall i measure the output in the fleuresant bulb ? before the bulb there is not a strong electiricty i think cause it dont light even little 2-3 volt torchbulbs .. today i tried it with a 12 volt 10 amper pc and it makes the bulb more bright .. but the 9 volt 300ma is enough to flicker the 30 watt bulb .. i ll send here a picture very soon .. thanks
