Steam Power and Energy Liberty

Before 1930 many American  Farmers had their own steam powered devices. Can small steam engines help communities to be free of the grid and fossil fuels using solar and bio mass?

As Mark E. already pointed out, a Stirling (NOT Sterling Allen!) engine is better for generating electricity.

Are you saying that a Sterling Allen Engine is not Overunity?  I thought he was running his house from one?
