Hello everyone,
I am a simple yet practical person who is interested in emerging technologies. In problem solving, the first step is to identify the problem, and I am having a difficult time doing that reading about Orbo online. Basically, what I am trying to identify is the critical barrier that is preventing this technology from being useful. If you have the time to spare, please help me out:
Earlier this year, Steorn showed that Orbo is an over unity device. There seems to be a bit of debate about what that actually entails, but from what I understand, Orbo is supposed to do is this:
Input X energy. Get X+Y energy as output.
Now, if Stoern had a device that could input X electricity and output X+Y electricity, then governments/militaries around the globe would be scrambling to get their hands on it (regardless of Steorn's reputation).
As we all can see, this is not happening. So why not?
The best I can deduce from reading online (and this is where I think I need some help) is that the over unity they have shown involves various forms of energy and is a little open to interpretation. They aren't getting more usable electricity than they are putting in, but they suspect the total work output, heat output, and electricity output is higher than the electricity input. Is this even close to correct? If i'm not on the right track, please advise. I would very much appreciate having a greater understanding of this.
Thank you for your time,
