not a stupid question at all, but yes, i have a 3/8" copper tube filled with Fe3o4 iron oxide. I can not say it is better than the aluminum, but it does generate a field. i also have a mercury filled tube,[1/4" clear vinyl]that generates a visible field also. the battery i use is a 9.6 volt battery from my makita drill.

Where did you get the iron oxide?I have an aluminium tube. The real question is do you even need a ring? Can you see Aura's on people? I can but i cannot see those waves with magnets . There must be a condition to see them?

Hey David,
   I have an idea to magnify then waves . Have you tried to cascade rings spaced on top to see if a more larger wave can be produced?Also Pyramids in the center ?

I took a 3 foot  3/4" flexible aluminum conduit stuffed full of iron oxide and wrapped 2 coils around it and energized it like a Pmh. Didnt see the waves but the magnetic pole orientation at different points around it is interesting. Its been energized over a month now.

  are you using a battery to energize? try using only one coil when energizing, and reversing the battery, like first pos to neg, then neg to pos. i know you must have some rocks around, find one with some quartz in it, then hold the rock in the middle of the ring and turn it slowly. in low light watch as you move the stone, watch the edge of the stone , that is where you should see the  field. try covering one eye, it helps. use a compass when energizing, you should be able to get the needle to move 180 degrees, when reversing the polarity. i hope this helps

Cant remember If I used a a battery or dc power supply. I think it was my dc power supply.  I have a sample collection  of small rocks and some Uranium ore. Ill check it out with only one coil.
