I need help interpreting the test run of a generator before I will continue.
I built a device with this schematic: http://jnaudin.free.fr/kapagen/images/callanan_diag.jpg found on this page: http://jnaudin.free.fr/kapagen/replications.htm but get unexpected results.
The site says to expect 330 volts at the output running incandescent bulbs. The bulbs lit but after turning the generator off and unplugging the light from the test generator, I tried to plug the light into the regular outlet.
I got an arc between the light plug and the outlet that caused the bulb to flash/burn out; the switch burned out; the base of the bulb had a hole burned through.
The light looks like this: http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/017398/017398346733lg.jpg
Since I was not expecting any charge in the bulb at all, I do not want to continue without understanding what happened. Any Ideas?
It also burned out a saw and a multimeter with arcs at the bulb plug on the generator.

Thank you for posting your circuit.
Almost all of the replications so far have reported so much output that it blows out light bulbs. So the latest circuits call for a VARIAC on the input to reduce the output.
Personally, I htink a $8 ceiling fan light DIMMER would also work to reduce the input. A Ceiling Fan Light Dimmer can handle Inductive loads, where as a regular Light Dimmer is made to handle non-inductive light bulb loads.
So it sounds like your device had so MUCH OUTPUT that it burned thru the cord & switch insulation. Thus when you plugged it in the Low Impedance Wall Outlet, Sparks Flew.
My opinion is that a Dimmer on the input can reduce the output and make everything work okay.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks.

Thanks.
The bulb and switch were ok after the run. No burnouts or problems, so it should have done nothing or light up as usual. Instead it sparked at the wall outlet and blew the bulb.

The circuit created by Gotoluc (please check Capacitor Oscillator) seems have big advantages, save energy by regulating the PF this is a big improvement.
