Hi Raj,

Thanks for your answers.  I wonder what is your take on the diameter ratio of the wheels?  I 'feel' the small wheel may have a maximum OD of half of that of the big wheel.

The bigger the inside wheel the more "field tear time" you will have to overcome. The small wheel assures mutual field contact and quick field tearing action to get it out of the way and into the next cycle. But the actual final center wheel diameter may require fine tuning so that inside wheel is better to have adjustable magnets and adjustable center axle positioning, otherwise you may run into a checkmate condition from the start.

I love these ideas. They are so relaxing to the mind compared to our other works.

 At first glance I could see what you are trying to do. But as you have it, it will not work for it will skip and find an equilibrium. I am highly experienced at this approach.

The first major change is you have to have each wheel geared and your spacing has to work with the gear ratio of the wheels. also you will have to have a top wheel added to keep it from jumping due to the magnetic fields.

I did a quick drawing of one of mine but took out what else I was doing. If you add your idea to mine. Between the two of us we might have a running magnet wheel. But will it be real strong? I doubt it, but it might be strong enough.

Hi Alan,

I also think it can skip, mainly when you wish to use its torque for something useful but I do not think this is a reason for finding equlibrium: in fact all the sticky points in Raj's setup are overridden by neighbouring attract and repel forces so no equlibrium can happen. Of course the torque may be small but it should be steady when a small and stabile load is applied.

With your gear idea the skip can surely be eliminated (but with a decent flywheel it can also be kept at a minimum), however the gear system will surely consume some part of the useful torque just by its normal friction. 
And with gear, why equlibrium could not happen?

 There is no guaranties, for if so, I would have already had a runner from this approach. I just never added magnets to it. So if it is going to be tried lets try to work out the bugs first. Then we can try it.

No, it's not hard to say that it won't work, if you've messed around with magnets before. If you don't believe I'd suggest that you buy 50 magnets for a total of 20$ and try out multiple arrangements yourself...
I've got a couple hundred Neo magnets and mess with them a lot but no diamagnetic ones.  I still think he's on to something and it appears he already has somewhat a proof of concept.  I'll be following this with great interest as I've always felt there is a way to do something along these lines.

IF you happen to have 16 sphere magnets, you may try a test with them too, the principle would not change, maybe you would get less torque vs the cylinder magnets, I think.  Of course this just a suggestion. Fixing sphere magnets with the correct polarity orientations is not the best passtime...

Excellent drawing by AB and concept by Raj.  I agree with you on needing gears and a tension wheel.  Compare your drawing to the inner workings of a harmonic drive system.  The tension wheel is done away with and replaced with an elliptical plug with outer bearings.  There is also no backlash.

I believe your drawing is a better option for the "automatic gravity engine" than the harmonic drives, but I'm posting this to spur some thought around this principal.  Maybe some aspects of the harmonic drive system can be incorporated into a working system based around your drawing and the concept of Raj.  Excellent thread.

I would like to make some precision on my AGE concept.
There will be no skipping for the following reasons:
1. The weight of the larger wheel, which is very important for providing necessary torque to the small wheel, will be pressing continuously at the contact point on the rim of the smaller wheel.
2. Magnetic engaging actions will be continuous between the two wheels.
3. The smaller wheel will have fins (like in bobbins) to prevent larger wheel from slipping sideways from the smaller wheel. (see AGE drawing below)

Does my precision make sense?

Huge forum full of ideas and so much to read.  I think that is mostly why lack of replies here.  I'm still following this but have little ability to build such a device and not much else I can think to say except it is always the actual build that will determine it's real world usefulness.

Hello everybody,
I feel very sad not being in a position to attempt a build of my AGE device, as I have explained earlier.
I will have to wait till Jan/Feb, next year to be able to attempt a build during my visit to UK where I know I shall have all the facilities needed to test my concept.
In the meantime, I am wondering if any of you will help me by attempting a build.
Maybe Alan, Gyala or Ematrix?
