OK, you realize he is talking about reducing the population growth, not reducing the population? The figure he wants to reduce is the 9 billion projected population, not the current 6 billion actual. So there is no talk of actually killing anyone.
If you have effective vaccines, you give children higher probability to grow to adulthood, and thereby give parents less incentive to squirt out a ton of kids (hoping 2 out of 5 will live on).

Without the millions he would have been a nobody.
Its a crazy deal but we do need to practice a little smarter birthing and family planning practices.
I choose not to have kids one of my reasons is there is enough people out there in need of care the others well I could go on but that is besides the issue at hand.
There should be limit to the number of kids one couple is allowed to have and if you get married again or one of them dies they allow you another just to keep things in perspective. I think we could do things like reforestation and such though to support a larger population the technology is available it just needs to be applied if we make efforts twords this I am all for having a brady bunch but we have some issues currently that are not going to fix themselves and more people may make it worse or may make it better it might be that one extra person that has the solution to something big like the energy crisis I dunno but at current state I choose not to have kids and wish for others not to be forced into the majority vote many folks are coaxed into starting a family by there family this is not the way forward.
Choice remains lets make smart choices though when you have a child you are bringing it into the world of turmoil currently so think think think list your pros and cons before forging ahead and plan for the worst.

Silliness. Limiting the number of children a couple may have has led to some of the most inhumane treatments for punishing those who violate this.
And imagine what a government might do with the extra child.
And after they've castrated one parent and those children die in some tragedy, I suppose the kid will be replaced by one of the extras from another family.
Very strange this idea.

You want to help the problem: propose some non-restrictive means, ..for each child some socialistic / communitarian effort be made ( plant ten trees, twenty even ) ... make donations to sustainable living studies or ownership of bonds ..beyond that proposed limit.
but then, your kids appear to be tied to bonds - that's likely worse than one might imagine .."Title pawn your child"?
Just teach people that raising 7 kids in poverty is unreasonable; their expectations from the government should be considered. The 5 baby's daddies - wtf are they doing?

I dunno folks...the meaning of the words from Gates on "vaccinations" seem pretty clear to me.
If they REALLY wanted to reduce the population in a 'sensible' manner, they would simply offer incentives which increase according to the lowest number of children a couple has.

You had better stop and take a serious look at the idealisms of
the man in question. This is not a man of greed, this is a man of
power lust. He tried to take over the internet completely and would
have succeeded had not been for the interventions. When in college,
he decided to be the "best" mathematician in the world. When he
couldn't make it, he dropped out. Him and Buffy are hard at taking
over the energy markets. Look at what he just bought to make sure
he has coal for his power plants?
As long as you fit into his plans, ok. Go against him and Woooo Nellie.
Look at all the small businesses he either bought out or bullied out of
his way. He wants no competition. Only reason he stepped away from
Micro Soft is that he now sees it as a dead duck. Linux will survive and
MS will in the end forfeit a large market share. On to better things.
This is the kind of guy that would become the next world dictator if
given the chance. Him and Rummy would make a great pair.
I was around from the birth of MS and he has always been the same.
Get out of my way and I will take what I want. Just watch the movie
"Anti-trust" and you will see what he is like. I think that movie was
derived from him. Just ask Paul Allen. He had to get out because he
couldn't go along with the tactics used. He had morals, something I
really feel that Gates has none of.
He has been real quiet lately and that scares the hell out of me
knowing his past. What is he up to? No good most likely but only time
will tell.
