How many of us haven't read about the past history of space propulsion systems based on mechanically spinning mass or electrically spinning mass. Usually it's about gyroscopes becoming lighter/heavier when spinning at high speeds. The Otis T. Carr Utron is a good example of this.

Well looks like some people, not going to be called a crackpot, at the European Space Agency have found this effect to be true:

http://refreshingnews9.blogspot.com/2010/02/first-test-that-proves-general-theory.html

Basically they spun a ring at 6500 rpms and used accelerometers near it to measure the pull of gravity. When spinning these meters indicated an increase in acceleration indicating a change in the gravitational field. The effect was about a change of 0.0001 G. Can you imagine the effect of this at much higher rpm.

Since this is a free energy forum I'm curious on the reason this information got out. Wouldn't it be much more favorable if it went on silently like the many cases we've seen in history. So either this article will be the last we'll ever hear of it or these guys have a very good reason to publish this pretty controversial news.

Update: Looks like this news is quite dated going back to 2006. I found the original article at the ESA website here:

I guess I was a bit naive there. I don't know how this news got out but we sure as hell won't hear anything else about it. I guess I should be gratefull for garage scientists on this forum. We are going to be part of the real change not these corrupted "scientists".

the publishers need to give credit to the right individuals.

Dr Podkletnov  !!!

He discovered this effect almost two decades ago and his effect is a lot stronger.  Here's just one article that comes up from a simple search on that name.
