With only small cost over-runs from originally estimated $1.2 billion, up to $5 billion. Ooooppss, must have been a slight mis-accounting of money needed.

This is not an overunity project.  Fusion still requires fuel.  Our Sun, a big fusion reactor, will eventually burn out due to lack of fuel.
