An calculated factor of 1:3 made in the FEEM-Simulator is

Wow!  That's an interesting idea.  Have you only done simulations?  Although I see exactly what you're doing, I would hope that 'small' repulsion wouldn't cause a problem.

This is a very interesting concept. Where can you get triangle shaped magnets? I would be willing to build this. Also please clarify the positioning of the magnets in relation to each other. The diagrams show a rotor between to stators. I may have to create a picture to illustrate my question.

Do magnetic fields really bunch up at a point like this? The whole
purpose of a magnetic field is to spread out evenly. The first thing
someone should try is to show that this actual happens in using a
triangular magnet and one of those iron filing screens or iron filing
liquid. Magnetic fields don't self focus. It seems they would bunch
up on the trailing edge of the triangle.

Simulation I did in FEMM shows that this design does not work. The fluxlines looks different also because S and N attract eachother regardless of which side of the triangles. I made a circular model with 24 stator and rotor magnets, and simulated in 1 degree resolution. The result is 0 torque.

This is how a simulation deals with this typ of shapes. All poles are N up, S down. Flux lines looks pretty different compared to the PDF's in the first post. Instead of repelling, they clearly attracts from both sides. No surprise really.
