Title: cymatics
Post by: X00013 on September 25, 2009, 02:09:45 AM
Do we as a group have someone to hone in on Earth's hertz via Evan Grants demo of several sounds, , then run earths magnetic sound  thru cymatics, see what design happens, then place mags of extact equal to our plant in the same design, and see whats happens? Does this make to much sense? Listen to the planet's sounds? She paints a picture. Listen to the Solar System? She too paints a picture. Connect the dots? Way to many people are wasting time (and money) glueing mags in a lottery config. http://www.ted.com/talks/evan_grant_cymatics.html

i found something that may help in this adventure.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Mechanical-Wave-Driver-for-Chladni-Plate/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Mechanical-Wave-Driver-for-Chladni-Plate/)

you'll probably have to use something with a different density than salt, to use at low frequencies such as that of the earth.
i think the salt will have "too much" vibration at those frequencies to produce a stable image (thats just me theorizing, i havent tried this yet)

that instructable seems simple to reproduce, and much less expensive than buying actual cymatic equipment.

i'll search a little more for plates / plate design that could be used here.  i like the idea, maybe we can produce something that can pick up on the earths natural vibration.

ideally, you would want 3 dimensions,
so perhaps a "cymatic-gel "would be of interest, rather than a 2-d plate.
