Sick of adds!
« on: September 17, 2009, 06:50:16 PM »
Can we get less adds please? Its just really hard to read a thread with every second post an add. The server does not cost that much ($70 a year) so why so many?

Not the point is it..
This is just blatant overkill.

I can't follow the posts for all the noise.

@all
I'll tell you about *overkill*:

Yahoo now has  stupid!!  popups that arrive on the mail screen every few seconds!  They were never there before.  That's overkill.

i am pretty sure the ads will not be taken down, at least not completely.
you're better off using Firefox with NoScript.NET

@all
FreeEnergy is right.
When I just use Mozilla from a separate Linux disk in the CD-R drive, the Yahoo! ads disappear.

I think that the real problem is the sheer size of the pages. Check
your downloads. The front page can be 200k, and contains almost
nothing of value. Certainly, the ads bulk it up, but the design of
the software is ridiculous.
