It seems our present economy has produced a crisis of homelessness unparalleled since the great depression of the 1930s.Many families with children are homeless too.

trash into cash.heres a great story!http://www.popsci.com/article/science/scientists-turn-cigarette-butts-electrical-storage  triffid

In essence, the scientists burned the filters in a nitrogen-rich environment, and this made the filter fibers grow pores, further increasing their surface area. According to their results, published in the journal Nanotechnology, these burnt-in-nitrogen fibers stored more energy than materials previously used in supercapacitors. With further research, this could be great news for both electrical storage and ashtrays everywhere.

Russia in trouble with its ruble  http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-11-06/russia-reserves-fall-7-9-billion-biggest-drop-since-may.html?cmpid=yhoo

The Bank of Russia sold foreign currency in October for the first time since May as the price of oil, the country’s chief export earner, plunged to a four-year low. Sanctions imposed by the U.S. and its allies after Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in March have stoked capital flight, undercutting the ruble and stoking inflation.
The regulator said yesterday it will spend $350 million only once a day to support the ruble when it breaches its trading band, another step toward a free floating currency. It will conduct additional interventions at undisclosed quantities periodically without announcing it in advance.
“Intensifying pressure” on the currency pushed the central bank to withdraw its “active support” for the ruble two months before the planned shift to a free float, according to Natalia Akindinova, director of the Development Center of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Another challenge that still awaits the Russian currency this year is the peak in corporate repayments on external debt next month, she said.

Someone who seems to be talking straight is Senator Elizabeth Warren. She said:
“People today, a lot of folks are feeling really discouraged, and part of that is because government is not working for them,” she said. “Let's all be clear. Government does work. It works really well for those who can hire armies of lobbyists. It works really well for those who have armies of lawyers. It works really well for those who can make big campaign contributions. It's just not working for American families.”

She also said:“What Mitch McConnell said just a couple of days ago is he wants to go to Congress and  loosen the regulations over the big banks,” Warren said. “Now I don't think very many people went to the polls and said, Boy, I am casting my vote to make sure that Wall Street has better chances to make bigger profits off the backs of the American people. I just don't think that's what was going on.”

When asked why the Democrats are struggling to get their message across to voters, Warren didn't answer it directly. Instead, she talked about what she thinks is the overall perception of government right now.

Senator Elizabeth Warren was very passionate about the midterm elections that swept Republicans into greater power during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” Tuesday evening. The Democratic Senator from Massachusetts talked about the need for accountability on both sides of the political aisle, referencing the government shutdown and the Affordable Care Act.

       Yeah, but there's something else:
The intelligence community is afraid of a 25 years (long, I assume) depression is unavoidable in six months.

http://moneymorning.com/jim-rickards-coming-great-depression/

http://www.gramsgold.com/news/cia-insider25-year-great-depression-about-to-strike-america

unfortunately, no one is listening to this guy.   Possibly on purpose?   Look at the National Debt Clock...

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

I have other information that may indicate this is no freak happening.  It's merely personal to me.   Not something I can either explain or else I CAN'T tell you because someone asked me not to tell anyone.
But I can give you this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h4-j9Jsjag

...until, that is, the depression actually hits---then this is all a moot point.   Then, everyone not living off the land---exclusively---will be in 'hot water', financially, so to speak.   This entire assertion was my main point---the economy is heading for a financial cliff---but it IS in line with the subject of this thread, after all.

My thanks for all the dismal news. It's like, you know, the game is over and Satan Devil is the winner, if all this bad news can be believed.

But, what if .....somebody does invent and implement free energy, maybe just a minute before Satan Devil drops its hammer.

Free energy would, like, you know, make Dollars, and, Gold, and Whatever, worthless. Free energy would make free electricity, and free food, and free housing, and free whatever, like in Matthew 25:31, FREE for every human.

Know whut I mean, Vern?!

Cangas (and others), you lack imagination: imagine a dron propelled by free energy device. Now imagine religious fundamentalists like Boko Haram or ISIS; imagine those fundamentalists' groups using such free energy devices sending a message of their interpretation of their religions around the world. They are able to produce a lot of such devices and send them around with small package, lets say: ground castor seeds (which is available without restrictions).

       With respect to Reply #3835,
I expect the future to be harsh, but not necessarily that 'Satan" has any any chance of winning a game involving the contentious possession of humanity's collective Soul.
Well, at least, free electrical power would result whereby unlimited electricity is available to all.   The rest you mentioned might be easier to obtain as a result of the first sentence above.
(I dislike getting into discussions involving religion on account of that being---at least---a fairly emotionally-charged issue; possibly being capable of leading  to things like persecution and martyrdom.)

       Qwert,
With respect to your Reply immediately following the one mentioned above...
What could ISIS, the Taliban, etc., do with the tactic you suggest above?   They still need to eat food to survive, with or without money.   Ruining the world's collective economy will then force then to be as bad off as bad as anyone else, yes?
I do think, however, that they're Apocyplic-believers who also believe their apparent position of violent power and war-making atrocities will end, eventually, and they'll get what they did to others as having been done to them.  (This is the basis of the concept of karma.)

Also, by that basis, I consider they aren't going to 'win' their conflict with most of the Gov'ts of the world.   They're outnumbered and collectively outgunned

Lee, they believe that God's (Allah's) will is to annihilate non-believers (their God must be quite powerless if cannot do that himself ;) ); to do that, they are ready to not sleep, not eat and even to annihilate themselves if only this way brings annihilation of the non-believers: they believe that that way they will go to heaven and non-believers to hell, becoming condemned forever. Recent news say their authorities give drugs to their soldiers to break their eventual hesitations. They are not like us. No negotiations with them.
