Do we need all the forums?
« on: August 25, 2009, 07:24:16 PM »
My understanding is that the reason for the relatively short list of active topics on the front page is that to lengthen the list would require too much processing power from the server.

I have an alternative proposal.  Given that most people would prefer a longer list of active topics, why not just do away with all the different forums and combine them into one.  Or at least condense them to 2 or 3.  There could be one for just "Free Energy" and maybe another for website related topics and one for non-FE topics, like current events and so forth, and that is about it.

This way, everyone could just go into the "Free Energy" forum and you would have a list there of topics, sorted by most recent post.

Does anyone seriously care whether a topic is posted under "Magnet Motors" or "TPU" or whatever?  It is all free energy related.

I think this would solve the current problem.

Have a look at all the stuff that is posted in "we can't live without the truth".
I have stated this before: this stuff does not belong in this forum.

I actually do like this setup.
When I feel like being creaive with gravity wheels, I have a place to go to, and see what people have been working on lately. Not everyone will be into both gravity wheels and top level joule thiefs.
For me, there could be one large forum for "claimed battery chargers". Everything seems to fall under that denominator.
Gas setups do deserve a seperate forum from the all-wires-and-diodes circuits.

When you buy a new, sleek F-22 fighter for $billions (the new forum software) and it takes 20 hours of maintenance for 1 hour of flight time (or whatever that large number is exactly), it makes that 'cheap, dependable' F-16 (old software) look pretty darn good!

I would liken the software to an elderly motorcycle trying to pull a caravan full of
domestic waste.

Every time we click on a link to get the next message down, this message is likely to
be around 1K of data (if there is no picture). To receive this, we downlaod around
200K.

I accept that the board is paid for by advertsing, but how does this make sense?
