@Broli
Well u cannot say that resonant freq calculated by the formula is also valid for square pulses. Here since it is at 50% duty cycle it is 2 time of 1KHz. If u give 2 KHz Sinusoidal it is having the same effect if u give 2KHz/2 = 1KHz pulse to the same LC cct with 50% duty Cycle. But in this case u will get higher kick offs. I practically checked that using my DDS 3x25 function gens.
As far as your java based cct sim is concerned. Try to check it again using following steps.

Place an on off  switch just before the load of 300Ohms.
Keep the load disconnected from rest of the cct by keep that switch off.
Charge the 4700uF capacitor to 50VDC.
power on the pulse generator and after a few seconds connect the load to rest of the circuit.

This is the only way to trap the energy and get oscillation.

Try this and plz let me know..

Best of Luck
Charge the capacitor completely to 50V DC.

Yes I do precharge the cap to 50V first. I put switches in more places but still the same result is given. I think it could also have something to do with the mosfet model.

Hi Ali,

Thank you for sharing this interesting circuit.

Hi Broli,

Thanks for the simulation.

The sim seems to treat grounds as termination points and not feedback, this is why you are seeing dampening. I modified your setup with the grounds removed and hardwired back to the cap. Also changing the cap to 1F gives some nice long power output. I changed to a 10ohm load, which is average resistance for a heating element.

Here is the changed version, if you see error please advise. Link to Circuit simulator:

In the bottom of the page of the second link it shows the last picture of the device. It talks about the primary HV winding which uses copper tubing with a wire which is supposedly inserted all the way through it. They indicate it would create a displacement current capacitor.
Has anyone tried this type of setup? I don't remember hearing from any of the group members as having tried this.

John

I didn't see any response. Maybe someone like Wesley can give us some insight on why the primary is similar to a coaxial cable with wire running inside the copper tubing. This might be a key to why it works so well.

Hi,

Sorry to bother you but you have a tip to make the secondary coil with copper 0.6 mm ?
& Thanks some informations ;)

@energia9 i am agree with you.

The circuit still dampens out, yes over a much bigger time scale but you did use 1F which 212x bigger than the cap Ali and my previous sim used. I don't think the effect can be shown with this simulator.

Ali, can you also provide the specifications of the capacitors (voltage rating, frequency rating) and inductors (current rating) and did you also use those irfp260 mosfets?

EDIT: I included a "body diode" to the mosfet as strangely this is not a feature of the simulator when using mosfets. The waveform looks now very similar to Ali's simulation however the voltage still dampens.

Ok i checked ur schematic. 1st of all the performance of N-MOSFETS in falstad sim is really too wierd. I m not getting any drain from it. i set the threshold v to 200V. Another important thing is that u used square wave. make it pulse wave by setting the amplitude and dc offset to 2.5 V. In this way u 'll get 5V pulse (between 0 and 5V) with 50% duty cycle. But again i say that  i m not even getting oscillation using falstad sim. its a straight away dc. :| i m sending u the Netlist and try it accordingly and let me know. Thanks.
 Best of luck.

OK my friend . Well done u r close to it . :) . As I have told u give it 50 % duty cycle and pulsed dc between 0 and 5V. I have told u how. And see the magic of my circuit ;). Your output pulses are damping coz of negative half cycle of the square wave. Make 0 instead of going to -V. ;)
Best of Luck

And of course this body diode is very much important as u can see it is part of IRFP260 model. I m using the same n-MOSFET in my hardware. U did it man. Now we may be three in the world  after Nikola Tesla. :D

Yeah falstad's sim mosfet model is strange.

I'll ask this again, when you upload the video can you please make a new thread about it with all the needed information and part list for replication.

Ok I'll made the new thread including all my previous posts related to it and ofcourse the video too. I m a bit busy in forthcoming week. So dont worry. Oh I forgot to tell u your last sim in which u are getting pulses, can u upload it again so that i can check your parameter or just send me the .txt file for its netlist. Thanks.

Thanks for your interest and admiration. Someone tried to dominate his ideas that this will not work, but I did it and you will also do it soon. It's just the matter of putting the alphabets into correct slots to get the meaningful words.

I already ordered the power mosfets I just need some information about the capacitor in the LC tank and current capability of the inductor.

Thanks dear. One more thing. Try zener diodes as body diodes instead of these normal diodes. Keep the BV high. and try
Infact Falstad cannot provide the true spice model of the IRFP260. But professional sims like NI Multisim and ORCAD have the models in their library.
