Why are modern and energy efficient homes so damned ugly!

Same goes for the cars.  Has anyone stopped to think about this . . . artistic visions and engineering efficiency rarely meet anymore.

Show me an energy efficient home that doesn't look like a half-buried pile or a box car and things may start being adopted, meanwhile:...

You know, it takes time for fundamental engineering
principles to be accepted into practice...But just give the
engineers a while, and soon artistic concepts will be bolted
on. It's just easier to do a design totally based in principles
and forget everything else. Take for example, the all the
effort required to get "green" concepts accepted by office
building architects...But it did happen, eventually. In
general people want to do the right thing...but in the mean
time, it's kind of like herding cats. 8)

I want to build a very stealthy carbon fiber flying saucer
house and airbrush a U.S flag on it and set it on top of a
modern Stone Henge as a landing platform, do you think
that would get some attention.

Do the paint job right and; Hey It's U.S.A.F. Zero  The Presidental U.F.O.

I think you need first to read the energy efficiency report for this eco-house concept

Buildings and houses swallow Energy
About 41% of the total energy in the European Union has spent for heating and cooling buildings and homes. Energy efficiency has become a leading issue of world leaders.
Energy efficiency is very important, both in cold and hot areas. It is estimated that 70% of the world's population in 2030 lived in cities. It is therefore necessary to build a house as an ecological house Veljko Milković

I see exactly what you mean.. A brilliant problem solver indeed
Veljko Milkovic's masterpiece is his 'Two Stage Pendulum'. It has passed stringent 'Peer Review' and is definitely 'Over-Unity'. A true stroke of genius, elegant and simple!

Experiences from past years

The owners of self-heating solar sod houses or eco houses do not have to worry about the heating material, they are protected from noise and vibrations, which places this solution amongst best achievements in the world - says one of the users Aleksandar Nikolić.

Self-heating eco-house concept is the only house building concept where highest energy savings are achieved with minimum investments.

The big problem in the world is quality of construction of houses. We can see that during the earthquake, many houses has being destroyed. Way of building houses contributes to this condition. Examples show that the houses who were built in an environmentally way, and surrounded by countries that fit the nature, quality, and better, more resilient than any influence. A good example can serve the cave in which the preserved wall paintings (aged more than 11 000 years) in the caves of Spain for example. There are no cracks in the walls or any damage. Good isolation proved to be an effective and safe. So ecological house of Veljko Milkovic confirmed that it is more efficient than ordinary houses but also and safer. This also applies to natural disasters and the quality of life.
