Free Energy House
« on: June 24, 2009, 04:30:25 PM »
Hi All
this is a real marvelous thing.

Veljko Milković is the ideological creator (author) of this self-heating eco-house concept with the reflecting surfaces and the owner of this eco-house in Novi Sad (Serbia), Aleksandar Nikolić did a construction project for presented eco-house.

It has been shown that the energy savings in this solar sod house are 85%, tenants are very satisfied with accommodation, and the construction costs are less than the construction of the over-ground house. This type of house was the first to have both a high degree of construction savings and heating savings.
Instead of a traditional roof, ecological house has a layer of soil, protecting the house from low winter and high summer temperatures. In addition, walls are protected from erosion. Ecological house does not require deep foundation, large area for heating material, heating installations etc. :)

Savings in heating is based on reflecting surfaces i.e. surfaces that reflect direct and diffuse radiation of the Sun (around 80%). These are glossy coats (of lacquer and paint), aluminium foils and metal sheets on hard surface. You can also use milk-white paint, which is also acceptable since there is not much diffusion loss because the reflecting surfaces are positioned next to the window.
The upper reflecting surface is built into the eaves of the object and is fixed. The lower one is positioned under the window and can serve as a shutter.

This is the future :)

This house won the prize. I watched on television.
For me is particularly appealing way how the house fits into natural environment.
I think that is characterized by high energy efficiency...

The upper reflecting surface is built into the eaves of the object and is fixed. The lower one is positioned under the window and can serve as a shutter.

Special attention should be paid to reflecting surfaces, since they are the cheapest solar device which, in addition to heating, also increases the presence of light within the object.

Glossy foils, metal sheets and coats on hard surface can be positioned on upper or lower part of the house. Upper reflecting surface is fixed and built into the eaves, and the lower one is movable and can be used as a shutter.

Reflecting surfaces are the cheapest solar device which, in addition to heating, also increases the presence of light within the object. Eco house in Novi Sad (Serbia), for example, had savings in lightning of 30%.

that is a very nice house.

I think building a house on top of pillars would be cool too because the ground below the house could increase plant life on this planet, usually the ground below normal foundations is dead.

Why are modern and energy efficient homes so damned ugly!

Same goes for the cars.  Has anyone stopped to think about this . . . artistic visions and engineering efficiency rarely meet anymore.

Show me an energy efficient home that doesn't look like a half-buried pile or a box car and things may start being adopted, meanwhile:

Covenants on properties sold to us require aesthetic value in order to maintain realative value in the neighborhood.

These things MUST be dealt with prior to building anything and not being sued - atleast, here in the US.

who cares about form, function is paramount. i have no problem with making things 'pretty' but if functionality/sustainability suffers then a penalty should apply... like all these soccer moms i see driving big SUV's that never see off road action. hell, 90% of them probably don't even drive down dirt alleys... they should all get tickets for waste of natural resources. form is just icing on the cake, without the cake the icing has no foundation.

anyways i am glad to see people start to attempt to live sustainably instead of this current method that is popular. here is a "net-zero" house in black river falls, wisconsin. i visited it, it is quite nice and very modern. it looks much better than in the picture now that it has landscaping and a grass yard...

Sorry, I had to tell you.

sorry jerry, you are wrong. there won't be a 'next'. i've been to that vietnam... not going back.

for the record i feel that way about every idiot driving a truck because they want to, not because they have a need to... not just soccer moms. trucks should be used for work that require them and nothing else. shuttling rugrats around can be accomplished with a 4 cylinder, no need for a v-8, 10 or 12.

i bet you drive a truck don't you jerry? 8)

Well of course Wilby, I work for the county these days, you have to tote a lot of tools around with you. you know, those white trucks with the county seal on the side.

in my younger days I was an Electrical and Mechanical engineer, I still needed a truck to carry around tools, I guess there's no way around it for a guy like me. my first trade was an 8 year Electrical Journeyman in the industry. I needed a truck here as well, a boom truck at the time.

since I am a mountain man now, working for the county and or road maintenance and or the water department pays the best up here in the hills.

Jerry ;)

when i want money these days jerry, i do granite and marble work... i'd be willing to bet i have a need to carry as many and much larger tools than you, and i still don't have a truck. i rent one when it's needed or pay one of my idiot friends to let me use their wife's truck. ;)

..they are getting a little better, the idea is not to look like garbage though.  I think it wise to mention this 'ugly' factor which has crept into the decision making process of owning an Energy Efficient Home.

I want to build a very stealthy carbon fiber flying saucer house and airbrush a U.S flag on it and set it on top of a modern Stone Henge as a landing platform, do you think that would get some attention.
