WARDENCLYFFE - Nikola Tesla's Laboratory for "SALE"
« on: May 16, 2009, 07:53:28 AM »
Howdy everyone,

Several days ago posted on “Tesla's wireless electricity transmission” at Energetic Forum by a fine member Altair (Guy) the disappointing and sorrowful news that the “Wardenclyffe” laboratory of Nikola Tesla in Shoreham (Long Island) New York, is up for “Sale” by the present owners, with all options on the table including demolition. The asking price for the 12 +- acres is approximately 1.6 million dollars.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/05/science/05tesla.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

As you all know by the topics and subject matter on this or any forum using “open source” engineering of old and new electrical and mechanical devices the name of Nikola Tesla is always on the top of the list even as others try to knock him off into obscurity. This maybe the only earthly structure that may be in existence that hasn’t been destroyed by time, covered up by cut throat competitors, greedy investors or by our own government, and we cant let this of all things in the science community be taken from us “we have lost enough already”.

http://teslasciencecenter.org/gallery_lab_0903.html

I will in the next week be contacting the “Tesla Society” and see what we can do as a whole both here at OverUnity and Energetic Forums to help in the purchase process of this “gem” of science now in the rough. The cost is insignificant even at 1.6  million dollars it may sound like a lot of money to some but this is “chump” change for what it is, and there is money out there we just have to seek it out, and it won’t take long either.

There will also be people or organizations in the private, local, state and federal government to contact asking for help in a grass roots level that will need to be accessed to get this accomplished, and that means clear down to the science teacher for your kids if you have them.

Anyone having Ideas or links to web sites “PLEASE” post them here in this thread for the all members and the world to see, or contact me via PM with any information. If there is anyone else that cares to volunteer their efforts or just a little of there time into this more than worthy cause, now is the time to stand and be counted we need all the help and support we can get to do this right.

Best Wishes,
Fuzzy

Hi Fuzzy,

I totally agree this must be preserved, maybe even made into an "Alternative energy research centre", like a sanctuary for energy research.

I would advise putting up a PayPal Donate button on affiliated sites where the proceeds go into a single account. So same link, several sites with possibly a dedicated site or section for this project.

You would just need 160K x 10$ 0r 80K x 20$. 100K should be enough for a down payment?

Please post the donation link as soon as you have it.

Good luck with this great initiative...

Hi,
That is my intention is to help the Tesla Society or the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe, formerly known as Friends of Science East, Inc. it's a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization registered with the State of New York, to do exactly what your recommending !!

@ AquariuZ,
Hi,
There is already a place to donate at the Tesla Science Center http://www.teslasciencecenter.org/ , I just want to make sure by contacting both organizations to see if everyone is on the same page, and the opportunity doesn't slip by. The money should go to the most viable group, with there intentions known that best suit the people that can donate the funds needed to make this possible.

Ill keep everyone informed on my findings !!

Best Regards,
Fuzzy

Guys I think we need one of the major supporters of Tesla to state a donation for this cause alone,  like already mentioned.  I would have no hesitation donating $100 for this cause.  And I believe that there would be alot more like me willing to donate that much.  Who do we contact to start this??  Fern

Hi everyone

The response on this endeavor for support is slow, the letters I sent out have been somewhat consistent in the response that they are aware but undecided or unable to help at this time ..... some standard form letters. I'm sure that pressure by just not letting this go away and the persistence of the concerned will make the best outcome that can be hoped for.

There is movement in the sales and it appears a confirmed offer from a developer on giving 7 acres of the site for a 9 acre 48 unit condominium plan, sounds alright I suppose but the 7 acres includes 99% of the "super fund" clean-up which would leave the developer not responsible for any additional future clean-up work if ever required and all annual record keeping needed.

The most encouraging is from Assemblyman Marc Alessi (D-Shoreham), gave a $350,000 state grant to serve as a down payment to be used for the protection and preservation of the 16-acre site. I have no clue what the ramification of this is or what it truly means, on who gets what and where it going, but I'm trying to find out more information to share.

Hi everyone,

This morning I got a e-mail from Jane Alcorn, president of the "Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe", and was able to answer the questions about the grants and donations received by mail and online, also how grateful the organization is for the donations and help. As I suspected a great deal of cost is used for informing the masses on information and the goals to the "Wardenclyffe" site, this is the best reason it is so important for us to use whatever influence we have at our disposal to further the cause to help limit expenses for something we can easily do. She did indicate at this time she had no details on the "State" grant that has been given and the new ownership of the property, i'll see what I can find out.

Thanks again to all members and guest that are actively working or just have time to add your voice to this worthy cause, to "Save Wardenclyffe", anyone interested in helping .... the previous posts have "CONTACT" information.

Best Wishes,
Glen
