Title: Capacitors
Post by: clt1dpw on May 07, 2009, 04:46:05 PM
Been searching for the large blue capacitors that are in a lot of the You Tube videos.
Can anyone tell me the size of these capacitors?
How about where to get them?
Hate stringing up the small capacitors and not getting close to 1 faurad.

I see the capacitors on Ebay, but they are only 16VDC.

Help..Please.

here is a quote ...   ;)

Technological Breakthrough

If EEstor is the real thing, revelutionary energy storage is here. EEstor is a very secretive company located in Cedar Park, Tx. They claim to have invented a new ultracapacitor power system that would replace current battery technologies and hopefully turn the automobile industry on its head. Based on current claims, a three to five minute charge should give the capacitor sufficient energy to drive a small car 300 miles (480 km). Zenn Motor Company owns the rights to these batteries for the automobile industry. EEstor's batteries are supposed to be available for Zenn's electric cars in the fall of 2009.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT WASTEFULL METHOD THEY USE TO CHARGE THERE CAPS ....  :D   I HAVE MANY VERRY EFFICIENT WAYS TO CHARGE CAPS ....  :)

thanks bro for the link ... 8)

i do have a question why do u desire such large caps ....  ??

ist!

i see no reason small ones can not be used ...   just fill em quicker .... lol  ;) and fully dump em  :D

just cuz im a real nice guy ...

watch both thease videos...  8)

what if ...  the first video fed the second video...

Looking for larger capacitace for more power output.
Since an SSG can spike >200 volts, I want a cap that will not be damaged by putting that high a spike in it.
Second, 1 faurad = 1 amp/sec.
Even with all the caps that I have, the total is only about 10,000uf. That's using 25 caps.
Only need another 990,000uf to get enough power to run for a second.
I am a little weiry about getting the Car capacitors with digital readouts since I have seen no one use them in these types of experiments.
