for those having lots of errors.
change your language preference in your profil to either "English" or "German"

there are 2 entries for each language, the first 2 entries of those languages are working for me.

there are still some bug to level out tho.
sometime the "User" menu is displaying errors.

a few changes suggestions :

-allow us to disable "Statistics", "Recent Topics" and "Navigation" side menu.

-put the "User" menu on top and/or buttom of the pages instead of on the side.

this will give us more widther text display.
my display setting is 1024 x 768 on a 19" monitor and i find it hard to read posts when phrases are choped all the time because of the side menues.

Please upgrade to VBULLETIN Forums, I did it with overunity.org.uk and it imported all the SMF accounts, threads etc etc with no hassle at all.

Give me a shout if you want a hand.

Cheers

Sean.

Is it just me, or is the opening board totally changed in appearance.

If not, I hope Stefan can reconfigure it the way it was before.

To me, this new look is hard to understand.

Looks good so far Stefan. BTW, I'm almost 100% certain the SMF 2 comes with a WYSIWYG editor. Did you disable it?

BTW, I think SMF is better than Vbulletin.

For people who want to hide the right panel, you can just click on the right edge of that panel to hide it, and the opposite to bring it back.

Stefan doesn't want to run VB. I offered to help him last year and he said he prefered SMF.

I even offered to purchase him a license of VB or organize people here to pitch in a few dollars each towards a permanent license, to no avail...

Yes, that is right,
why should I change to VB, ifit costs money and I don´t know it.
With SMF I know how to add and install it and with PortaMX Portal the
possibilities are endless.
Also it has support for WAP so you can use it with a slow GPRS PDA.

I will soon use the new features of SMF 2.0 for
the subscription mode, moderation, etc..
Stay tuned for more.
Regards, Stefan.

Paul:

The WYSIWYG editor is there, all you have to do is to turn it on in your look and feel preferences from the profile menu. It is off by default.

Quote from Stefan...

"with PortaMX Portal the possibilities are endless"

Stefan, does than mean you can change the front page to resemble the original format ?

Yes, I had a problem with installing the Download System Mod and
that way, I did already the SMF2.0RC1 installation before
saving all the Block contents of the old installation.

But I have to retrieve them from the database now.

Will be doing this in the next few days, when I have more free
time to work on this.

Wanted first to get the forum running again and then the tweaks
will be done.

At least we have now the Download System Mod and the Sitemap
Mod running already with PortaMX.

Regards, Stefan.

Thanks Stefan...thats great news...I'm relieved that the "new board" is only temporary.

I'm surprised no one else mentioned it. :)

Great job by the way...and you even managed to save all the PM's.

while that work in Firefox, in IE the +/- buttons are missing.

Edit: never mind, i found out how to disable the right panels in my profile settings for IE

There is still a little issue with the caching of the files.
I disabled the caching for now.

I am working with the PortaMX crew to find out, why this is
happening..

If it still comes up,
please let me know.
