The diode releases the reactive power, this primary will ring like a bell, it works like a pendulum.
I didnt discover it V8carlos did, I just seen how it works and put it in a low voltage circuit, bring this into resonance with a secondary, you wont be disappointed.

How it works, the colors are there to show polarity
The first two diodes act as rectification and blocking diodes, after more consideration all three do actually.
The first half cycle is a neg pulse its bemf will be pos
The second half cycle is a pos pulse its bemf will be neg
This should remove and recover the reactive power, keeping the coil from fighting itself.
A pendulum without the capacitor.

its common in the market here in china just like a toy two sizes   12 inches and 24 inches 220 v ac model

Thanks, I've located a supplier from China on Alibaba.com. They are completely unheard of in the UK.
Obviously I am interested in the generator aspect of these devices.


On another note: I like your bug zapper design and think I understand the principle. ANy chance of a photo?
BTW your original diagram  was 1.3 meg. I imported it into paint and saved it as a jpeg so I could post it here.

This is a good generator, an ac type motor that has very thin windings for 220vac, one coil only wound on a round bobbin and sandwhiched with toothed metal sheet, small magnets go around north & south fashionh, i've modified one, and i found that it speeds up under load!  :o
