My Magnet Motor Idea, Can It Work?

I have an idea for a magnet motor and would just like to throw it out there for critique, and if anyone would build it and prove it works, awesome.  I would like to build a prototype myself and plan on doing so when the wife gives me the ok to spend about a hundred bucks, maybe a little more or less.  So, here it is.

Imagine a wheel or disk, whatever, with a shaft through it, like a bicycle tire, now around the disk a drum of sorts, just anything that is stationary.  Now, there are magnets on the outside part and disk in classic fashion for magnet motors, but in order to overcome opposing fields, you would simply put the magnets on the disk, or the outside part doesn't really matter, onto some sort of spring system, cam, whatever in order that when the two magnets repell, the disk begins to turn, the magnet is forced down out of the way of the next magnetic field and then allowed to come back up into the field on the other side, something like a 'dog' or ratchet system if you know what i mean.  Now, my idea for building it is this, simply plywood, some clothes pins, an all thread for shaft, some bearings and bearing blocks, and some dowel pins (for pushing the clothes pins on the disk with magnets attached down), and some aluminum or nonmagnetic brackets of some sort to fasten the magnets on the outside.  If you can't picture it, I am attaching a picture of one basic example, of which there are many configurations possible, for example you could just simply push the mags up and down with some sort of cam, or with some springs, my example is a lever on a spring, or clothes pin.  Also, it is a very rough paint program sketch, so please no judgements exactness etc. and please notice that there are 8 mags on the outside and 7 on the disk, offset so that the first mag pushes the disk clockwise, and the next mag counter clockwise from that then 'fires' off and each in succession, one could use any configuration such that there was multiple mags 'firing' , this one is simply one at a time, the simplest I could come up with. So, like I said before, critique it, build it, ignore it, whatever, just getting the idea out there to find out if it has any value.

Some of my own initial doubts are these;  Friction, Can the mags overcome the springs, Are the springs strong enough to push the mag back up into the opposing field far enough to get it to move.

Here is another variation I drew up, this time with microsoft powerpoint.  Notice there are 8 mags on the rotor and 6 on the stator, two of which are engaged at the same time turning the rotor clockwise, disengaging the first two and engaging the next pair and so on. 

0c, that is an interesting graphic and concept, how do you turn the stator? Do you have any designs or drawings using your idea in a device?  I would be interested to hear more about what you think in regards to these designs.  Thanks for info.

Also, if anyone knows of any good beginner drawing programs for this type of stuff, I would be interested, as I would like to be able to get my ideas out of my head.  Any programs capable of putting in motion the drawings would be especially helpful.  Thanks.

This is a design I had for the WhipMag (OCMPMM). It has not yet been implemented. The stators turn all by themselves due to the dynamically changing magnetic relationships (check out some of the videos to verify that part). PS: I like your first design much better than the second one. To minimize losses due to friction, you should avoid any mechanical contact.
