UFO hits a wind turbine on January 7, 2009
« on: January 08, 2009, 07:26:37 PM »
Its already being played down and ridiculed by press and others but could this be UFO damage or self destruction from stress and metal fatigue?.
I would think that most aircraft would be brought down by hitting one of these things but who knows?.

Sorry i could get any pictures because of the copyright but full story and pictures are found on the website.

Description
A WIND turbine stood wrecked yesterday with one of its giant 65ft blades torn off — after it was hit by a UFO.

Locals were woken by the 4am smash after strange lights were spotted streaking towards the 290ft-tall generator on a wind farm.

Blades breaking or dropping off is quite common for wind turbine generators.

I find it hard to believe that any life forms advanced enough to traverse unimaginable interstellar distances in space and time would not have the ability to miss a giant windmill.
I mean they must have some kind of drivers ed.

With all the UFO crashes over the years, is it possible they come here 'hot rodding' and stewed on 'space saki' ?

Regerds...

C'mon... You must have all realised by now, it was little green Martians trying to use it as a Ferris wheel, after a drunken night out  ::)

It could be the beginnings of the "Space Chav" culture  ;D

that totally destroyed itself ... if you notice it broke and a blade came off which must have hit the second blade and the third blade hit the shaft and brought the whole lot down

when I saw this on the news I didn't think it was a UFO, I thought a more likely event was someone who had a problem with the wind farm being there who thought it spoilt their view had decided to fire a rocket at it or something but that was until I see how weak they are and just break themselves :D

but that doesn't explain the lights... who is watching a windmill at that time in the morning anyway, the news article I read said the bang woke them up so who actually saw the lights or was it after the event?

I believe in aliens visiting us but not in this case

You may also notice that the blades start to cripple just before they snap off. That could explain the remaining buckled blade on the turbine in the news.

I am sure it was an UFO, the aliens behind the wheel are concerned about our superior technology of wind energy, they see it is a threat to their technology.. somehow. Or maybe their GPS maps weren't updated with the new maps, which includes the windmill park.

It's not a common problem but blades and total failure of wind turbines is NOT A UFO THING
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=c3FZtmlHwcA

Shows a total destruction due to high winds, The damage on the turbine posted is a single blade failure.

NO UFO's... there are NONE to hit them, ANYWHERE...

EDIT:

And this one, on fire with blade failure http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4N4HQv-UyUo&feature=related

ANOTHER blade failure http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zAx_W_pDluM&feature=related

ANOTHER: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ragRSNKE7Sc&feature=related

NO UFO's

Well,
as it seems, there were no high winds reported this night.

Also many people in the area were seeing strange lights in the sky, not just 2 people...

Also one blade seems to be missing !

UPDATE PLUS PHOTO: Are UFO's to blame for the chaos at Conisholme wind farm?

Flashing lights and loud bangs were witnessed the night the turbine was damaged (Photo: Dick Carbutt)

COULD the damage to a turbine at Conisholme wind farm be the work of UFO's?
Reports of a large bang and flashing lights skimming across the sky on the night a turbine on Conisholme wind farm was damaged have been told.

Mr Stephen Willows and his wife, Dorothy who live in Fen Lane close to the Conisholme wind farm have told the Leader how Stephen was startled in his sleep by a loud bang at 4am Sunday morning.

It is believed the damage which has left one of the massive blades missing and another bent out of shape happened at some point on Sunday night.

They also reported how on Saturday night, Dorothy and two friends were travelling to Louth by car, when Dorothy looked up at the sky to see lights travelling in a strange fashion across the sky towards the wind farm.

Dorothy said: "I don't believe in UFO's but it was a low flying object. This light seemed to be in the distance, and then it seemed to skim across the sky towards the turbines.

"It might not be connected, but it is just how your mind works when something like this happens – you think, could that have been the noise Stephen heard, or was that to do the light I saw? But until we know what has happened for definite it is very hard to say".

The couple went to the scene to have a closer look, and like many residents, take photographs of the damage. But, when they arrived at the scene, they were shocked to find they had little evidence to go on.

"When we got there, there was nothing to be seen - not even the propeller on the ground" added Dorothy.

"Those blades are pretty sturdy – we saw them when they were being constructed – whatever has hit them has made quite an impact. I was shocked to see that there was no debris left".

The company, Ecotricity have since sent engineers down to establish the cause of the damage to the turbine.
