i don't know how long it takes 2 repeling magnets, to drain themselves of power.
but it would be easy to just recharge the magnets, with wire coils and electricity.
use attraction of magnets instead

For those unfamiliar with the cheese product...  The lid is plastic, the color of aluminum.
As a pigment for plastic and coatings Aluminum is usually in a tiny ball form. The plastic is not usually electrically conductive.
What is more interesting is the control magnet pair. One disc type and one donut type.

Opinion only:

If this is not a fake then The suspended metal in the lid is crucial.

Remember the BrnBrade coil?
