If you need a power unit with a built in frequency generator and adjustable duty cycle take a look at our site www.alterntech.com;)

Hello all,

@GMATech,

nice work. Can you say me the current reading when the TPU is pulsed at full light? Voltage?
Have you tried to disconnect the bulb and look to the current in the moment when you disconnect the bulb??

Is it self powered is the 64 dollar question.

Okay heres the low down!.. this unit is not self producing!.. I think I need to experiment with other transsitors as the fets used where not the specified ones in the Otta/Roberto document... this was because I wanted to see what else could be used. I will try to get more work done on it soon, but I have 3 current projects and I hope to post info on the other two soon....

Yes, by the way I have tried disconnecting the bulb while reading the output and if barely makes a difference... shame!.. I am doing something not right..

Hello all,

the MOSFETs I use are IRFP 450. Its Robertos idea and its a good idea. You almost cant blow them.

Avery long tome I wrote that a TPU is like a little child: it plays with the voltages, currents, particles....and doesnt care about the output. So, if you connect a bulb on the output, the current is stable and at some frequency mixes, the current from the power supply ot the battery is decreasing.

Otto  I like how you describe the TPU as a child
  Thankyou for sharing
Have a good night
