To take CO2 out of the air I think we should use "artificial trees".An idea already on the drawing table somewhere because I saw it on a tv show. They look like trees and can be set up where CO2 can be pumped underground.Plastic is used to absorb CO2 and water washes it out of the plastic.Thats pretty much all I know about it.I guess someone here could google it up.But they did say these trees could take out enough CO2 to reverse global warming back to pre industrial levels.Triffid

I've heard of this...the functional kind.

THey're turned cellphone towers into fake trees around here.  Ironically, they look like cypress trees, not a swamp in sight.

The problem with real trees is that they take forever to grow and lock up the CO2 they take out of the atmosphere. But the fake trees could be made by the millions and set up wherever the CO2 could be pumped underground. The tv program said each "tree" could remove over a ton of carbon dioxide per day.If not more.Triffid

The other problem with trees is that they exhale co2 at night.

heating mechanisms are extremely inefficient and there would be lost energy to continually heat the air, especially when attempting to use the air to move a turbine

the more air you use in the system the more heat you would need, and the more energy required to continue heating the air

Trees only exhale a tiny amount of CO2 at night, but you are right, they do exhale a little.Triffid
