Title: Cheapest, Simplest, Most Efficient Wind Generator anyone can build
Post by: AbbaRue on September 25, 2008, 11:00:59 AM
The following video shows the Cheapest, Simplest, Most Efficient Wind Generator.
And anyone with a little mechanical skill can build it.

I think this is a totally awsome idea.

We can build these for less then $5 each.

Anyone know where we can buy this belt material?
I think he is speaking of Mylar® Polyester Film.

It's Mylar coated Taffeta and can be bought here:

I wonder if the resonant frequency of the flapping is always constant, or weather it changes under different wind speeds. Somehow i think it might be more or less around a particular resonant frequency governed by the geometrical conditions of the Tafffeta, such as length of the material and perhaps width and thickness.

Pese, am i understanding that you are saying this is not unusual enough for you to accept/ be interested in/ or be pleased with, for methods of energy generation?  It think its very good. I like its simplicity. It remains to be seen, but perhaps this is a more efficient way than compared with conventional wind power generation. I personally believe there are more efficient free energy generation methods that are non mechanical (and thus no wear) and do not involve consuming fuel,  but that doesnt mean its to be condoned.  There are many ways.

Do you have annoying neighbours playing any stringed instrument?
You can change this bother to Free Enery :o
cheers,

Check this out.
Google Tech Talks December, 12 2007 ABSTRACT Shawn Frayne, a 28 year old inventor based in Mountain View, talks about his wind belt.

That web site is appalling. who would invest in someone behind such a site?

Intelligent idea I was thinking what if one does many coil with one belt would be much better. ;)
I will try this.

I would expect all of those things to be factors.
