Great video.

The only thing I don't like though is the math they have on the chart.

But the big picture point is still valid.

Ironically, conventional theory already has the all the information by which to construct an explanation the performance of his machine. Using conventional theory, I developed what I call the "Mechanical Electric Theory" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_variable_theory for another example of obtaining unconventional results from conventional theory).

http://www.academia.wikia.com/wiki/Mechanical_Electric_Theory

The following results are particularly important to making Newman machines a valid possibility:

    * 4.2 Result #1: Greater inductance for a given resistance increases torque output (angular momentum per unit time) vs. dissipated heat (energy per unit time).

A high rate of angular momentum production (a.k.a. torque) is need to obtain high power levels at low rpms. The L/R time constant generally increases with coil size.

    * 4.8 Result #7: Efficiency of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy increases with the RC time constant and the angular velocity.

Notice how Newman's coils have relatively high resistance. Capacitance in a wire adds the same way as resistance in a wire. Therefore, for a given rpm and conductor material, the efficiency increases with the square of the resistance of the wire being used for the coil.

Important: The video speaks of how Newman motors do not have iron casings!

    * 4.9 Result #8: Mechanical energy transfer divided by electrical energy transfer equals frequency of rotation divided by cutoff frequency.

Basically the same conclusion as result #7, since the cut off frequency is inversely proportional to the RC time constant.

    * 4.10 Result #9: The RC time constant equals the -L/R time constant times the power factor

Therefore as a motor runs, the ratio of the RC time constant and the -L/R time constant is NOT CONSTANT. When the power factor is zero, this means that no mechanical power is being drawn. The same is true if the -L/R time constant is zero.

    * 4.11 Result #10: The RC time constant increases as more torque can be produced for a given apparent power

Battery power is the same as apparent power. Since torque is related to angular momentum and angular acceleration, it means that the rpms that can be obtained are very dependent on the torque need to obtain the rpms. The RC time constant is essential here. Remember that this is the RC time constant for the coil by itself (since it is what receives the supplied voltage in question).

    * 4.12 Result #11: Driving a charge through a resistance (that includes empty regions of space) produces a magnetic flux proportional to that charge and that resistance

This is exactly what Newman describes in his patent application.

Given that the Newman motor is a high torque device, the resistance should be stressed over the capacitance, since the resistance is tied to magnetic flux generation, but capacitance is not.
