I was kind of surprised when I found this video. Because the other day I was thinking about using shielding again but then completely forgot about the idea until this guy refreshed it for me.

There is not such a thing as a magnetic shield in the sense that people thinks about them, they are not really shielding the magnetic field, they are just distorting the flow in a manner that it looses strength in one sense, bit is really concentrating it in the other, so, the strenght is heavier on that other side. That does not mean the materials that are considered apparent magnetic shields would not have an use for creating a permanent magnet motor, but its not that simple as "hiding" the magnetism behind a shield.
