Do some research and you will see a lot of peoples replicated without success here!

Perhaps more precise - where exact?

The main thread is at:

Be warned it is a long thread

Bit of history on it

My replication and details under the Whipmag links

Fizzx forums where the guys are still trying

Hope this helps

Cheers

@Sean

Wow!!  I like your site.. a lot of nice work!

Still waiting for the parts to finish your replica of the MPMM?

I like the tri-gates!!

In the ramp video the magnet rolls off the ends of the ramp.. If you blocked the ends of the ramp, would gravity be enough to start it rolling the other way so it would roll back and forth continuously?  I think you have something there!  It seems that these gates could be used to spin a wheel also.. many ways to configure them.. very excited about the gates!

Once again great work!

I was thinking about the gates.. do you have to turn the magnet around to go the other direction?

Hi Sean and all,

I quickly made a rough graphic of a magnet motor using tri-gates.. it uses 12 gates..

What do you think?

Jason

Edit: Ignore the spoke lines and circles.. just used them for a reference to draw the gates.

Thinking about my design for the Tri-Gate Motor (TGM)..  I would use slightly bigger/stronger magnets than Sean's new magnets, but not the giant monster magnets that were in the first videos.  This motor lies down flat.. graphic top view.  I like the fact that it is a balanced motor.

You need to turn the Roller around to get it to go the opposite way.
Loads of people played with the Tri-Gates and tried many things, so worth checking out the threads in these forums.

Cheers

Sean.

Nice picture

Problem is as soon as you close the loop the Tri-Gates become one big magnet and you have no movement at all.
You need to have blocks of Tri-Gates that are spaced apart enough from each other, but then you hit sticky spots on entry rather than exit.

Keep playing though, as you may hit upon something.

Cheers

Sean.

I'm green to magnetics.. I didn't know about the closed loop.. What if you put in a copper shield?  Would that break the loop?  There probably be a sticky point there, but the other magnet on the other side of the rotor might be able to pull it through?

What do you think?

Or if that doesn't break up the loop maybe three shields?
