about magnetic ramps
« on: July 04, 2008, 11:10:00 PM »
hi  :)

taking a look at these magnetic ramp videos here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C09_STfqpqo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5QEYXFlAdc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNq0Rw8aRI4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZFqkCExfRg

the question would be:
all the energy/impulse come from the first magnets set in the ramp? or if a drop the car in the middle it would run too?
the middle section of the ramp apply some power?

thank you.

@loop888
I haven't built Smith ramps, but based on my work on other magnet arrays I would guess that there is a dead spot in the middle of very long ramps.
