Gazza's First Gas
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:09:24 PM »
Just uploaded my first video to youtube.

Do a search for:

HHO - Hydrogen 1 - First Gas by Gaz

Please don't expect miracles yet, as the tubes are still being conditioned.  I have proved already that a decent quantity of hydrogen is possible with very low current, no alternator or heavy duty supply.

The circuit is definitely reasonating as the choke can be heard 'ringing' although I have not seen high voltage spikes on the scope yet.  The highest voltage spike so far is about 25 volts (from a 12V source).

More to follow

Update:

While the power input to the circuit is paltry, so is the gas.  I set up a bubbler today and recorder one bubble per second (although it was a big bubble!).

Not quite enough yet to power a V8 says I.

Next step - find out why the circuit is not resonating.  Two ideas come to mind:

1) I need some series resistance - why this is missing from the Lawton circuit I have no idea,  Unless the idea was that the resistance is inherent in the choke wire - perhaps it is not enough.

2) My circuit will not achieve the correct frequency output.  I just brought a cheap inductance and capacitance meter from ebay.  If I can establish the size of the C and L, I stand a good chance of calculating the required frequency to achieve resonance.

On we go.........At least I can upload videos to youtube now !
