Title: Bob Boyce Cell
Post by: 22350 on June 10, 2008, 03:03:24 AM
I have been looking at the Boyce cell and I have a couple of questions:

1.  He is using 71 stainless plates 6" x 6",  but if you needed to fit this cell into a different application, could you change the format of the plates?  maybe 3" x 12"??

2. Has anyone here built an exact replica of that cell?  what is the output you have gotten?

Thanks,

Paul

i dont think anyone here has tryied the boyce cell, reason being...too precise of a build?
yes you could use any numbers that still add up to the total surface area, the reason he used his the way he did was to keep electrolyte from getting from cell a to cell b and so on otherwise his shit wouldnt have worked, or he would have drawn too much current

So I guess the question is:  How do you keep the electrolyte from sloshing back and forth in a cell like that?

hi,

bob took part in the hydrogen rally in these  videos...

don't remember which 1 (they automaticly open next vid until all 17 are shown) exactly, but he talks about making the cell.  it explains a bit how it keeps the liquid where it belongs.

check chapter 10 for bob's stuff

download complete e-book here..
