yes it is a hoax. A person wrote me a message that they tried it with 6 Mobiles - without success.

I tried this today with 3 cell phones at work without success, some of the corn was a little hot but not enough to popup

what kind of popcorn did you use ? Normal popcorn or microwave-popcorn ( with reduced thickness of outer shell-layer)
