Sorry, no translation into english this time, because I am a bit
out of time (and of course I am not an translation-hero ;-)
[In this text I describe an basic idea to the Steven Marks device, but this idea
is a bit nonsense and wont work in real life - I think]

uns weiterbringt in Richtung des "Ring of power".

Hi all.

I need help from someone for measurements on a basic test setting concerning the Steven Marks Ring.
I need a person who own an 2 ch. oszilloscope, a functiongenerator and stuff to determine the resonance frequency of an LC oscillator (KHz-range). And -of course- who is willing to do that. ;-)

The person have to wind some coils in a special manner and have to paste some capacitors on it.
Not much work. I wired the coils today in a few minutes.

I need the pictures of the oscilloscope-screen.

This first test and my thoughts may be completely bullshit, but I cannot stay passiv after seeing the Marks device.

If there is someone out there who want help me, I would prepare the setting description asap.

Thank you.

Regards Gast

PS: No, I am not an well trained elctrician and I have not the faintest idea what this setup will result for us. So, you were warned. ;o) But as I wrote: I cannot sit passiv on my bottom in this matter.

PS2: A german person would ease the communiation between us (I am not really able to have an understandable conservation without www.leo.org... and I have not a DSL-faltrate :-( ).

Gast, interesting idea, but as the coil has only 0.5 x L x I^2 energy stored, the higher voltage will
not charge up the cap to a higher level, I would think.
But maybe you try it and let us know. Thanks.

Stefan,

I think with this results from my current experiment (link: Interesting experiment with...)
in mind I will resume the old idea of the oscillator.

The kickback emf give more voltage back (factor 4) than I put into the circuit.
Maybe I need two coils on toroid cores... and mybe the current is to weak, but we will see. :)

Hi Gast,

I would be willing to try out your idea. But the one thing I'm wondering is how you think that adding those two diodes to the LC circuit will help the coil any. It *seems* to me that the back emf spikes are already bouncing backwards from the coil into the cap as it is oscillating (unless I am looking at this the wrong way). But then again, I didn't really get to read your description in German. (I ran it through babelfish but it was too rough to understand clearly). Anyway, I have just got a hold of two jumbo sized ferrous cores (2.5" OD, 1.25" ID, 1" thk). I don't know what they are made of since I just got them off of the shelf at the engineering school but they are a teal green color. I'm still trying to decide what gauge wire to use on them but I may end up going with 20 gauge since I have a big spool of it. (Smaller would be better though). Anyhow, if you could find the time later to translate your description, I would be very interested in seeing your explanation of this :-).

God Bless,
Jason O
