@koen - Again, sorry koen. Most of what I said was aimed specifically in response to utilitarian, I mentioned you in passing only because you are one of the names i recognize as only posting negative/dismissive/counter-productive posts. Its quite possible that the posts I have noticed represent only a small portion of your work, it is just what I have honestly noticed. I also disagree with some of your interpretations of what i was saying, but I don't see any good coming from arguing. I'll just stick with, sorry.

@feynman - Bahaha, science is cool.    ;)

@SeanTheLight: No worries! ;)
As for no good coming from arguing, I prefer to see things as discussion,
not so much as argument. And I tend to think discussion, even if it can be confrontational,
is usually a good way to share different views on subjects, thereby possibly
forming insights one would otherwise not have developed.
But of course that only works if all parties want to discuss things, and if you prefer
not to in order to avoid argumentative discussion then that's all good too. :)

@Feynman: Lol! :D
Yeah, I wonder... what will they do when they can't find the Higgs? Break down in tears? ;)

John isn't just another backyard scientist, he has made a name for himself.
He is well known in Germany, Japan, and the USA.
This country has it's share of welfare people, and most of them I have met could work but don't.
I would much rather our government support a world renowned scientist who is on the verge of one of
mankinds greatest discoveries, then support all those welfare people.
At least John is accomplishing something for the good of mankind.
If I was a wealthy man I would offer to build the man a lab myself.
It's so sad to hear that another great man will be driven out of this country,
Why is it that mankind always seeks to destroy the great things and build on the negative.
Search through history, how many great scientists have suffered bringing us the tech. we all use today.
As for paying his own way, it sounds like John is on the verge of doing just that if his new TV series takes off.
It's sad that just as someone is about to get to there feet someone has to knock them down again.
I hope and pray that John stays on his feet this time.
