Even the environmentalists would love this one. The patent should be an interesting read, once it is released.

It was also said that they are going to start using waste from paper mills to produce a biofuel. I am thinking that they may also be able to use yard waste as well. Like grass cutings, fallen leaves, branches and or tree's. This is quite interesting and I hope to find out more about what they are doing here in Michigan with this concept.

In the United States we pay farmers subsidies to keep their farmland fallow and basically not grow anything. This is to help control the food production so supplies don't drop the food prices below an acceptable amount. Some of this land, in Indiana for example, was going to be used to grow crops for ethanol production, which uses more energy than is recovered. This new patent process would probably be a much better way to use the land.

I am curious as to what the energy in  --- energy out  ratio would be.

ResinRat2, I cant find much on this anywhere. I can see where it could cost a lot to plant, grow, harvest and refine. But, if we used what was already gorwn and havested, I would think that would save half the cost making it half as expensive. I say half using it as a asumption as well as a example.

"What we're doing is taking the trash like corn stalks, corn husks, corn cobs ? even grass from the yard that goes to dump ? that's what we can turn into oil," Bell told WND. "I'm not going to make asphalt, we're only going to make the things we need. We're going to make gasoline for driving, diesel for our big trucks."

I am very interested in this becuase I know that city's are having problems with yard waste and the fact that they are filling up land fills.

I sure hope you're completely right about the tech, but not about the billionaire part.

It's the greedy billionaires and those trying to be one that causes most all of the problems.

I'll gather info on J.C. Bell and his company Bell Bio_Energy Inc to see what this is all about.
Maybe it can be co-opted by the "less-than-billionaire' OU gang ........

Actually, the more I thought about this, the less enthusiastic I started to become. I could see the oil companies easily buying this technology out and taking control of it. Then they would have an unlimited cheap and easily obtainable supply of raw material to make gasoline from and sell it to us schmucks. >:(

At a premium cost, of course.

The only plus side I see is that the supply is unlimited.

I guess that's a plus.

KEEP WORKING ON YOUR PROJECTS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!

G'day all,

The above book was published in 1976. It contains all that is being discussed here as NEW, and more. The book is still in print.

I get terribly disillusioned when I see that a technology that been worked out 30 years ago and was virtually able to be implemented then is now being held out again as the saviour of mankind. Someone is pulling our dicks. There is NO oil shortage! There is NO food shortage! Hundreds of oil wells in Australia have been capped, some of them as far back as the 1950's. Instead of exporting oil, as we once did, we now import some. The price of fuel in Australia is determined by the spot price in Singapore of all places.

It's not about oil, it's not about food, It is about profits!!!!!!

They are telling us that the current food crisis can be averted with enormous amounts of money. Last time I heard you couldn't get a decent meal out of the shit, the paper they are using to print money on doesn't digest too well. There is more than enough food there, they just don't want to sell it to us at a reasonable price. The same is true for oil.

Just my two cents worth, or shall I say two million dollars worth because of international pressures and Chinese demand for my comments.

Hi Hans,

I did not read that book, but I will see if I can get a hold of it from the library.

According to the news story at the beginning of this thread, this microbe started to be developed three years ago. So perhaps it is actually a NEW discovery.

Perhaps not.

I agree with your frustration, and I agree that it is all profit driven. The bigshots want to control us very badly, and steal all our labor and wealth.

Nothing like good news for my insomnia, LOL!!! I am up late and can't sleep. Here it is 12:33 AM and all I can do is type.

Maybe I need to start reading one of my George Orwell books. Yeah, that ought to put me to sleep...

Very nice!

The only worry is will this bacteria cause a new increase in bacterial infections ?

I always worry about genetic creations perhaps a little too phobic maybe but if controlled properly this tech could be a god send, real life robots doing work for us at no cost all constructed to carry out a task!
