60 KW Gen
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:35:27 AM »
power your house with one, your car with another one, and sell the extra power back to the electric co and recover the money youve spent with them over the years.

check out the size of the gen, its tiny,   http://www.pmlflightlink.com/archive/news_generator.html

,...my idea for this is simple, find an efficient electric motor or build a heavy duty pulse motor and run this gen, ive tryed to put this idea out a few times in different threads over my time here but it seems no one wants to know about it, i basicly got the idea from the rotoverter stuff which seems to have turned into thin air as does most stuff that looks like it might work, any way this is the idea ive had for a long time ive just been waiting to find a REALLY good Gen.

the new elec mini uses a 16kw version and is run by a 250cc engine to run the car AND charge up the batties on the fly when power drops down.

btw this 60kw gen is way more than enought to run your house and car and can even kill you 100 times over, the 16kw gen would work just as well, but i was thinking send the xtra power back to the electric co and stick it to them., you could even do this with the 16kw gen, i think the 60kw gen would be over kill.

the mini link is here, http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/08/the_hybrid_mini.php 0 to 60 in 4secs! f**k gasoline.

As I understand it, its just a PM generator, it still needs something to rotate it at 4000RPM to generate the 60KW.
Its incredibly small for the power output though.
That BMW Mini One economy is impressive at 80MPG.

I don't  know how hard it is to spin, but I would think a Bedini circuit would spin that sucker....

I saw a you tube video of a bedini circuit spinning a car generator.

yeah Rob what im trying to say is slap a heavy duty pulse / magnetic / motor onto it to power it and use a small part of the 60kw gen or the 16kw gen to close the circut and drive it. surly by now there are some powerful pulse engines out there that dont use much to power them, maybe you can put about 2 or 4 12v batteries to gether and power the pulse engine and set up say 20 to 30 plugs from the 16kw gen and use just one plug to recharge the batteries /shrug, im not sure how it would really be done but thats my general idea, i cant see why i wont work with a little tinkering, in the case of the 250cc petrol engine powering the gen to charge the mini you could then remove that part and drive for free.

so far they are the most efficent and smallest gens ive ever seen. :)

hi pothead , ive also seen a very very small pulse engine spining a car gen as well, looks like the guy can close the circut and keep his batteries charged and have excess power to light his house, this is what id like to try my self ( untill i can afford to buy the mini and a spare mini gen or two and start experimenting!.)....it just looks like it will work!.

...if some one knows why it wont work, please post and let me know!.

Just for reference....a Yamaha YZ250F four-stroke dirt bike engine makes about 35hp stock....  so 16KW out of 250cc is not difficult.

Something must get lost in the conversion    I personaly never saw a 250cc motor on a 16kw genset    normally a job for much larger displacment diesel engines  although I did not know they were getting that much from a 4 stroke normally asperated engine

I believe they quote the prius hybrid automobile as being a 153KW electrical machine.
This value is quite high when you first see it, as battery powered auto have 25KW quoted
as the maximum instantaneous power and average home is like 25KW instantaneous
maximum. Regenerative braking probably accounts for the hybrid's required high power.
Several people seem to offer kits that allow your hybrid to power your house in an
emergency.

if you check out the mini link and links from there youll see the mini has a 250cc engine in the boot when the power drops, then it kicks in and charges the batteries AND runs the car at the same time, you never have to stop and wait 5 or so hours to go another 200 miles or what ever like some of the other cars out there., now if you replace the 250cc engine with a pulse engine youll truly be fuel free and can then drive as far as you want with out stopping.
