Title: My First try at a Pulse Motor...Need Help PLEASE
Post by: slayer007 on February 01, 2008, 11:23:39 PM
I was going to try to build a simple Pulse Motor like this one to start with.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JliEeEKjUI

I was just wondering if for all the magnets the NORTH side goes out.
Or if it was North,South ,North ,South like in Nastranda2000 diagram  I seen in one of the other threads in this forum?

This is how I winded my motor coil.
http://www.theverylastpageoftheinternet.com/howto/windingcoils.htm
Would the pickup coils be done the same way?
And would I still use a bolt or just wind the coil on an empty spool?
The parts I have so far are a TIP120 Transponder and a INT4742a 12 volt Diode. Diode is  for after I do my pickup coil.
I was going to power it with a 12 v battery.
Are they the right parts?
I'm still waiting on my reed switch and some 1/4 inch magnets I bought off line.
I was going to try to mount eight magnets on a old hard drive I have.I seen a video like that on youtube to.
Or should I just use the four magnets?

If anyone could please help me out I would appreciate it ;)

Thank You..

Thanks for the reply Goundloop.

But that thread didn't help me out to much.
Was still wondering about my magnet placement and the pickup coil.

But Thank You.

I don't know about this item since I have trouble with videos, but you will find this good:

and do some browsing here:

Well I have my motor running.
I did a bifilar coil the outputs about 7.5 volts after it goes thru the rectifier.
I wanted to add another coil or two.I added one more coil it gets about 7.5 volts to.
But I'm not sure how to hook them up to I can get 15 volts.
I tried a few differant ways but I can only get it up to about 7.8 volts I was hoping to double that.
If anyone has any ideas how to hook them up parallel so I could double my voltage please let me know.
