Water Fuel Cell....NEED SOME ASSISTANCE
« on: January 02, 2008, 09:03:22 PM »
I have created a basic WFC. Which can be viewed by looking up The Power Tube in the search field on YouTube.

I am installing it into a 2001 Chevy Tahoe which is fuel injected. My question is other than the wiring and hose, the  WFC, vapor catching canister, fuel cell relay and on/off switch do I need anything else?

Do I need a Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer (EFIE), Pulse Width Modulation, any modifications to the O2 Sensor? or anything else?

I do not want to mess anything up.

I want to do this right.....PLEASE HELP.

Yes, your going to have to do some other things to keep the benefits.  Vehicle fuel systems are designed to operate at the magic 14.7 to 1 air/fuel ratio.  When you kick your cell on, your introducing HHO to the manifold vacuum/intake (however you set it up) which will enrich the air entering your cylinders.  After combustion,  the O2 sensors will read the quantity of oxygen remaining in the exhaust gases and determine if more or less gas is needed to maintain the 14.7/1 ratio.  Now, because you've enriched the fuel with HHO, more oxygen will be present in the exhaust than normal and the car takes that as being to lean and injects more fuel than is necessary to bring pollution back to "normal" .  You may see a change for the good initially without a modification but only until your car's computer learns this new fuel mix and starts trying to compensate.

You can fight the computer a few different ways to trick it into believing its running normally:

1: MAP sensor adjustment
2: MAF sensor adjustment (not recommended)
3: O2 sensor adjustment

LEANING OUT YOUR FUEL WITHOUT A PROPERLY WORKING HHO CELL CAN BE DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR ENGINE!!!!  ABOVE ALL, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAN IT OUT MORE THAN YOUR CELL CAN COMPENSATE FOR AND WATCH YOU TEMPERATURES LIKE A HAWK UNTIL YOU KNOW ITS GOOD TO GO.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MODIFICATIONS YOU PERFORM!!!!

MAP: Manifold air pressure sensor:
Basically your computer knows how much pressure is in the manifold and pumps in X amount of gas in to reach 14.7 to 1.....if you make it think its got less air in there, you get less fuel injected.  You should be able to find plans for this mod online....its very easy.

MAF: Very difficult to get right and not recommended

O2 sensor:  (make them think there is less oxygen, less gas injected)  3 ways to do this one and all are covered in the D17.pdf  (google it)

1:  The cheap, passive way is to install "oxyisolators" which allow your entire sensor system to function normally but restricts the amount of oxygen the sensors read.
                       http://www.protiumfuelsystems.com/oxyisolator.html
2:  Use an EFIE or make your own from the D17.pdf

    3:  Install a wideband O2 sensor

Hope that helps!

using oxyisolators will make your engine run lean if you need to have your booster off during running time for some reason.  I would recomend the efie since you can turn it off if the HHO is turned off and the computer returns to normal mode.
