Question
« on: December 22, 2007, 01:50:21 AM »
Does anyone have any info on the U10 undulator that S. Mark was working on back in 95?

Here is the ref;
http://www-als.lbl.gov/als/als_news/news_archive/vol.19_040495.html

Also, does anyone know much about plasma physics? To me plasma physics is the cats meow. It's a relatively new field and is in the process of shredding long standing theories about how the universe was formed, how the planets behave and, I believe, will probably shed new light on what gravity really is.

I've found an error in the PDF pointed to by the above link.

3) The legal rights to the TPU technology belong to a company named ?UEC?.
To the best of the available information, UEC stands for ?Universal Energy
Corporation?.

I would think that the following is more likely the uec in question.

The ALS Users' Executive Committee (UEC) is responsible for conveying the concerns and interests of users to ALS management.

Sorry. Not the first time I've been called obtuse. I have a feeling it wont be the last. C'est la vie

EDIT: Took back my last comment. I felt it was a little uncouth.

There is no relation whatsoever....just like the FAQ states. I didn't think it could be any more clear  ???

His last name is MARK. First name is likely STEPHEN, but most use Steven.

I know the coincidences are close, but there are hundreds of patented toroidal shaped devices out there.

Since we have a patent with his name on it (only audio patents...sorry), we know his last name is not Marks, and he has stated it himself, that if it is not MARK, it is not him.

@angryScientist

Based on what SM has posted through Mannix, he is no way related to Berkeley Lab. How many such names one can find in a technology field? Probably a lot. Are you going to say that every single name that sounds like Steven Mark is a case for being suspicious? Maybe, but hardly.
Based on what SM was saying, he is an audio engineer, not a mechanical engineer.

.. Would you also say that the BIG toroid at Berkeley in no way influenced the invention of Steven Mark's little TPU??

How many big toroids can you find? Just search for a plasma reactor. You can find endless number of them. Is each one should be considered having some influence on SM? Maybe, but hardly.

If you search the web for UEC, you can also find all types of companies and I am very sure that there would be at least one person in them named Steven Mark.

It should simply be a limit to speculations about SM personality without having obvious facts instead of just having the same names.

Kames.
