The ~~~~"RACK"~~~~~
« on: October 21, 2007, 07:13:53 PM »
 ;D

in the works.......

ist

this will consist of the 3 freq gennys bolt sudjuested  from jameco i will mod 3 varibale pots like gk i will add my fender tube amp i will add places to monitor the 3 freqs and diffrent outputs i will add 3 small bread boards to the set up for ease of changing caps i will add a powersuply to the unit  and also i will add chip sockets to the freq gennyes to allow ease of chip replacement if they blow it will be an all in one tube powered controler board for tpu freq finding and tuneing of coils

like i said the most important tool of all  for all tpu researchers!!!!

ah the quiet times ........

so i put more time in on the rack and today my gennys arrive  i have decieded to add an extra 12v  regulated power supply to the mix it can be used for  powering external amps and such this is being designed for much more than just the tpu

so yesterday  i studied the schems for the xr 2206 freq gens and i saw that we only need a 4 way switch to change the freq range so i added a switch board to control this i also added 3 outputs for each freq genny and 2 inputs  also i added the triangle/sine wave selector switch i will be adding 6 variable pots 3 for freqs and 3 for amplutude

well a pic of where im at with the board

ist

no rest for the wicked !! lol!!

just got my freq gennys so it is back to work on the new toys  ;D

hello all

3 freqs are mandotary!!!!

when force feeding  and always until we have a poperly built coil then the coil will make the 3rd on its own and then we will only need 2 freqs but!!!   if the freqs are as close as i think they are humm......

then maybe just 1 freq genny and a crystal or somthing like it to make the second freq from the first

and dont forget the coil makes the third  ;D

ist

just wireing it all up it will take a wile i have decieded to use ribbon wire from a computer to hook it all up  because my bottom will swing open to work on the gennys with ease so i will need neat flexable wire and ribbon wire fits

what cable?? not sure i follow you corss talk is a bad thing interferince i get that but hummmm....

ok here is a pic b4 i go any further on the wireing  will interferience be a problem with the ribbion wire i have chosen ?

please let me know as i do not know  if it is a problem i may have a solution i have some cat 5 dirrect bariel sheilded cable but it is a real treat to work with it is gel filled for frost and such cold but if i can avoid working with it then that would be great so some one let me know if it is a must for cables to be sheilded in a set up like this

thanks

it seams somthing is still missing from the mix to have a working ring

now that is assumeing i have the right amp! the right freq gennys!  and the right ring  but still somthing is missing  not the mag eather

now anyone got a guess what is still missing ?!?!?!?!?!?!

i hope so cuz im almost at wits end thinking what is missing the only thing i can come up with is phase!!!!!   hummm....  maybe the phase invertor !?!?!?!?!?!

but not so sure just yet

comments??

well i got the ribbon wire done and run but i still have to find 4 more pots 2 of each 1m 50k  i added the freq gennys on a hindgs door  for easy access a bit more soldering and then it is the freq genny's power supply and it should hooked up in split rail mode like a computer power supply so i will use 1 of those  and it will be in an external case to the board

so not that much left on this peice of the puzzel ;D

ok guys

pick her apart lets get this right

rf interferience is a bg problem with what is showen here so....

ideas to fix the problems  cat5 dirrect barieal cable  sheilded for all siginal carrying wires and they must be grounded so i guess i could use coax but man there are around 75 wires in this mix +  so coax ok maybe for some of it

the box the freq gennys should be mounted inside an alum box? to pervent RF interferience? and all wires that carry signal to and from the generator should be grounded to the box and to the power supply? then we could use the gens any where outside the ring and they would not suceptial to interferience? of any kind

and that is the main diffrance between tube  generators and ss generators the shielding  with tubes we need not worry about the sheilding because interferience is not a problem  could that be because the tube is sealed in a vacume? and ss are not

well anyone wanna help me get this thing right?  my rack so i can use the ss freq gennys with a tube amp  outside the ring or do i have to build a all new tube unit i know i should have done this from the start but here we are

speek up

ok guys

i have gathered my thoughts on this rack it will have to be changed and im happy this was brought to my attention b4 i got too far with it  ;D

thank you

now the gennys will be in seperate alum boxes or steel i perfer alum as i work with the stuff  so also i will use coax and cat 5  i will still use the knob rack for tuning but will have the freq gennys  enclosed in a seperate unit with only shielded wires comming from it to all adjustments and input and output  hard to work with but i can do it  we can just say my rack just grew in size

well makeing some changes........ any other issues that anyone can see that must be dealt with ??

i cant leave this project and i dont know why??

ist

so i rounded up some more materials for my second atempt at the rack  ;D this time with interferience in mind

well gonna put this rack to rest 4 now

i got the sheilded box almost all togather  so hopefully there will be no interfeirence when it is compleat  it is not as tidy and kool looking as the last 1 but if it works who the hell cares right we want the first public BANG  who will do it there is far more than enough info out here to make the first force feeding bang if i can get my shit togather i will try it out

if i was to use ribbon wire inside the steel box will that cause crosstalk between the gennys? i want to use the ribbon for my 4 way selector switch as it needs to bend  and cat 5 will be verry difficult to make the bends with out kinking

well back to work on this new box

hey in looking for a power supply and some rf connectors i just happin to have a wooah!! score  ;D i took apart a rca dirrect tv reciever and i found 2 verry nice ferroite rings
1.25" x 5/8"  a lot bigger than i have so far
