Simple and Safe Testing Setup (Help Needed)

My field of expertise is computers and networking. I am not an electrical engineer however I am a keen student of science and see the unknown as an opportunity to learn something new and a challenge. I am a sceptic at heart and find it hard to accept any premise unless there is a logical concept behind it. I have been following a number of developments with interest since I first read about Telsa's work and realised that there is more energy out there that conventional science recognises or we utilise at the moment. I have done a number of experiments with coils and transformers that have shown me that without the correct equipment (and knowledge) ie. an oscilloscope it is impossible to expect to be able to tune something to the point where you get anything useful.

It was with great interest that I watched the videos of the rotoverter and read the long and detailed PDF that attempts to explain how these systems work. If I had a lab and an electrical engineer on hand and an unlimited budget I would just duplicate the existing large 3 phase based systems, however as for most people resources are an issue.

It occurs to me that brushless permanent magnet motors are used in RC models and are already wired as delta or wye and have the 3 phase wires sticking out of them. These operate on low AC voltages and so a circuit involving these motors uses cheap readily available components and is hence cheaper to blow up and less likely to kill you if you make a mistake.

So with this in mind, if I plan to try and replicate the rotoverter circuits using smaller motors. I have everything I need to build the circuits, but I do have some questions as to the viability of the small scale application.

Is there a size at which the law of diminishing returns applies, is it perhaps the case that the coils inside these motors are too small to utilise the energy in the ether?

Is the frequency required to get a resonance related to the size of the coil or the underlying frequency of the energy we are trying to tap? Does smaller mean higher frequencies?

Is it realistic to think I can build a simple inverter that runs off a low voltage DC battery and supplies around 10VAC with the ability to tune the pulse length and frequency and use this to drive one of these small motors. The next logical step would be to mechanically drive a second motor as an alternator and use bridge rectifiers to feed the dc voltage back into the battery. Could I realistically expect to achieve over 100% with this set-up or am I doomed to fail?

If it were possible it should be easy to make a complete system for much less that 100 dollars, whilst it is not going to provide large usable amounts of power, it might be useful for charging small batteries, but mostly as an amazing technology demonstration and proof of concept experiment to get people involved...

this is Kone heads idea, i don't advise trying to do any thing on the 'cheap' or that isnt paralleled to the RV as is

No need to re invent the Wheel IMO, i would stick to the RV as is, as we are experienced in that i find it hard to get my head around your concept, but wish you luck with it.
