Well, you might be able to get it to do what you want, but you will need MOSFET drivers for sure! :)

Also, I don't have much experience with CPLDs, only with FPGAs.

:) ...

I did quite a bit of CPLD work for my Comp Eng degree, so I am partial to it heh.

Your right though, would DEFINITELY need mosfet drivers, plus other stuff for sure.

How much was your Spartan-3 board? I was looking those boards up myself just today.

Good to know there is another logic designer on this project--that will come in handy later on!

The Spartan board was $99 from Digilent.  The MOSFET drivers I got for free from Maxim as samples. ;D

Hey Guys,

That CPLD board looks cool. But I must confess that I have not worked with any micros, FPGAs or CPLDs yet. Though, I do posses at the moment, two 68HC12 micro controller boards that I got for free from school. I'm thinking about learning to program those to use for the control board. But I wanted to ask you all what you think the best system to start learning would be. I've pretty much accepted that I'm going to have to go on a bit of a learning curve to learn any one of them so which would you recommend?

God Bless,
Jason O

First and foremost,

I recommend you let me have one of those 68hc12 boards for a small nominal fee...... LOL...

I worked a lot with the 68hc11 in school, pretty cool stuff. But, I also did quite a bit with the Altera CPLDs in many of my digital logic classes.
