Bob Boyce Build Update Number 2.

Hey guys!  It?s a bummer we all have to wait for August 8, for the next production run of the cores.  But that should give all, continued time proper design and for testing their controllers.  I would recommend that some of you help to get the ?phase? thread going again.  Many of your individual questions can be asked directly to the ?phase? thread.  I would not ask questions publicly of wave forms vs. frequency, because he has stated he will not give that information publicly.  Do not ask him questions about his controller, it is proprietary and he will not give that out.  Coil questions, safety questions, etc.  All of these can be brought to the thread.  Wire questions, gauge, etc can also be brought there.  Please do not ask questions that he has already answered in the .PDF.  Thank you.

If some of you have ?ideas? on the safety features to include in the controller design please send that to me.  Example - Over voltage cut off (What voltage?)  Over Temp cut off (What temp?)  Just minor details like that.. 

NOTES: 
1.  Please remember to start with 120 to 160 volts for your HV bias in the secondary. 
2.  The low voltage bias on the ?first winding? around the circumference is an unknown voltage.  It is a ?static? bias, probably 12 volts or more, but could not see where B.B. specified that.  If anyone finds that please let me know to pass it on.

Two cores ordered, one from two different builders who only wanted one each.  20 awg magnet wire ordered.  Barter made for controller to be built for me (this was great news for me).  Silver wire sourced and soon to be ordered as soon as we have the gauge.

Thaelin:
Well, torrid is wound. Thanks for the rendering, it helped me to figure out what went where. I chose to use the #20 enamel for the field winding and #20 stranded for the rest of the coils. Used 250 feet of iron coated wire for the "ballast" winding.
   Now on to the controller setup. Waiting for Mouser on parts.

  Here is the part that I have to ask you a few questions. I am going to hike the idea for the phase shift from what earl has offered. What needs to be figured out as well is how to get the feed back to work. But that can come in time.  Onward!

Have a themistor to put on the side and going to put in a manual overide that I have to hold on for starts.

My head is really spinning right now trying to comprehend all I just saw. This main winding has a core frequency and I "saw" from the dream this frequency /2/4/8. Drive windings cut to echo back at those frequencies and it makes the bounce from the drive end, hit it again.
   As I said, I am not making much sense right at the moment but it is what I was seeing. This is in turn upsetting the magnetic bias formed in the core and it attempts to relax back to a steady state.

Just writting back to inform you I am still in the efforts of obtaining the propper equipment and core materials.

Jason - Attached Circuit diagram / Attached timing diagram
Here is an attached copy of my circuit diagram as it stands now. So far, it has the ability to operate in both pulsed mode and rotational mode. There is no build in kill switch to shut it down but I will integrate that into it after I get confirmation from Bob about the timing diagrams.

I do have some questions for Bob.

1. What frequency range should the control board be able to operate in? At the moment, the MOSFET drivers start to bottom out right above 6-700 kHz even though the logic gates can run up into the MHz easily. Specifically, what is the highest frequency that the lowest harmonic should be able to run at?

2. Do you have any recommendations for the over voltage protection circuit. I'm trying to think of a way to actually monitor the output of the circuit. I haven't looked much into the voltage sensors though I have a few ideas. What do you recommend? Ultimately, I want something that can just make or break a connection when the voltage gets too high, that way I can use that as a logic signal to enable/disable the IC's on the board.

Grumpy:
Mil spec number for Teflon coated solid copper wire with silver plating is MIL-W-16878 - Google this and you get plenty of hits.   This place carries it:  http://www.weicowire.com/specpage.asp?nGroupID=190   I recommend searching for surplus - stuff ain't cheap.   PTFE is "Teflon".  FEP is very similar compound.  The silver plating s what matters.   Have not had a chance to work on ring since I got back from vacation, but did get my cables to run both sig gens.  There may be some sort of interesting effect when pusing both the DC bias and running the RMF - ask Bob if he has tried this - don't want to blow anything up.   Interesting reading if you get bored: http://home.wanadoo.nl/raccoon/

OU device!  Of course your own experiments are vital with any coil, and to post the results, as long as we are all also building the Bob Boyce TPU, exactly to specs.  Thank you.

It was actually 2 wax replacement rings.  100 percent wax, no plastic, or anything.  Found it at Lowe?s for $1.24 US each.  About 1 lb. of wax each.  Not bad.

Working with Eldarion at firing up our three phase coil, today or tomorrow.  Working with Eldarion as he programs in the needed safety features to be monitored.  A battery of experiments planned.  Hoping for OU, without the lightning.

Eldarion  - New Builder
His controller and info can be seen on his thread.  He has wound our concept coil and is soon to fire it up.  He has also finished building the DC supply for the potential and bias.  He is programming some safety features into the chips.  His core is ordered.  Life is good!

Well as I stated, seems my errant parts were sent on a long journey to ME. They will be sent as soon as they are retrieved. Will be finishing up the controller this next few days off. Will hook up to the old torrid I built just to get a feel on how it flys. Attached is a pic of the torrid even tho Bob said it is a waste of time due to the type of wire I used.

Since I will be starting out with a new torrid core, I feel comepelled to go ahead and order new wire as well to make it with. Not sure when that will be here but dont really need it until I get the core anyhow.

6" PVC with 7 layers of coated iron wire for the core
Bias wind was #20 enamel wire
Black wire was a full circular wind of #20 stranded
Red wires are 3 sections of #20 stranded.

As stated Bob said that the stranded would ruin the wind so just will play around with it a bit to see what happens while waiting for the fe cores.

Rob:  I have received my cores now (T650-52) and they are quite heavy, about 6KG each.


Ward:

Researching DDS 20 alternative. Working on possible uCntrlr managed
external phase shift using 200MHz GAL's.  This will truncate pulse width
to 5nS increments (if that's OK), but should solve phase with 5nS
resolution.  Only other way I know is the CDC5801 phase chips with
oodles of control pins.  Purchased remaining driver components.

Another quick update...

The T650-52 cores are currently out of stock but due in on 8-15-07. In the mean time I'll be recieving 2 smaller alt core sizes. Also, I recieved my scope today, and plan to start works on JDO's harmonics demo.

My build update is the article I wrote. Not much experiments beyond what I discussed due to time limits but there will be more to come soon. I am interested in looking more into the blocking oscillator approach to pulse my coils since I found that the can produce the same kinds of spikes as my 'fancy' controller but in a much simpler way. My suspicion is that I may be able to gang three of them together with their three trigger coils wrapped onto a single toroid and the fourth one being the pulse coil from the 'master' oscillator. In this way, I can trigger the other two oscillators off of the first one and easily produce the synchronized phase shifts. But again, this is all just a guess at the moment until I test it out.


Grumpy:
REwound primaries to encompass a full 90 degrees rather than the previous wind of about 30 degrees with overlapping windings on each pole.   EAch pole is 16 wraps, 36 in the secondary - all are bifilar series - like Tesla's patent for electromagnets.  Still 24 awg primaries with 14 awg secondary.   Got the biases worked out and hope to test fire it tonight or tomorrow morn - whichever time allows.   Also, have pics and will post tonight when connection is better.

It will not be long, before our cores arrive.  I would encourage precision over speed in the winding of your core.  I do not think it will be helpful to us or Bob B. to have 16 separate build threads, so perhaps at that time, Eldarion can change the name on his build thread to something more universal if he does not mind and we can all post there.  This will make it much easier for Bob B. to keep up with only one thread, as well as ourselves.   We should all post pictures of our wound coils. 

I have decided to add the Top, Bottom and Inner longitudinal windings to my cores, in case his experiment works and there is output from these.  I would encourage all of you to do the same.  If it works, you will regret not having it and will want to wind another one.  On the other hand, if it does not work,  there is nothing lost, just some extra wire left there.  Thank you.

Discovered that my wax seals I had purchased are indeed a petroleum based wax, and not bees wax, when I called the mfg. to verify.  Purchased some beeswax chips from health food store, and will melt into a block.  Awaiting cores.  Finished the builders .PDF.

Working with Eldarion on a proper schematic of how the toroid should be wired.  This will then be sent to Bob B. for his confirmation or correction.  We have decided what safety cut offs we are going to have added to the controller, as well as sensors to automatically fine tune and adjust the phase to keep it in line with the timing diagram coming out of the primaries.   Eldarion?s controller and info can be seen on his thread.  Also, my future controller will be identical to Eldarions.

Sadly, I had a blood sugra drop and did some time in the bed trying to coop from it. Back to norm now and on the bench building the controller tonite. Will have a pot for duty cycle, two pots for frequency one coarse and one fine with a hidden small one for phase shift when I figure how far is save to shift it. Need more discussion in that area.
   Getting really tweaked up for the torrids. Will be ordering 200' of each size of the silver coat about the 8th so as to try and have it all show up about the same time.

   Just a heads up in advance, I will be vacationing Aug 20 to the 28 in BC. Then a 4 X 12 work week right after so will be out for a bit.

Forgot to order some control knobs, so will do another order to Farnell for those.

Designing the surface mount inverter board in Eagle, quite small, about 20mm x 20mm.
Ward has asked if I will order 4 x DDS 20 kits from ELV and forward to him in the US which
I am prepared to do.

Still waiting on the t650 core, but I'm still having a tough time locating pools of the mil spec Ag wire... In the mean time I'm doing some practice winding/tests on a 3" core I got yesterday.

I just finished finals on Thursday. For now, I'm taking a few days off to let what?s left of my brains cool off. I also have my significant other visiting with me for a few days so I basically will be vegging out for this coming week. I may poke around on Skype in the evening to see what everyone is up to.

Built.  Ran Johnson Counter circuit today.  Will connect bias tomorrow and see what happens. ;-)

For supplying signals that are of different phase and frequency, the ol' 74HC4017 takes too much peripheral crud.  It is great for same freq rmf straight out of the gate, so I will still test with this first with same freq and no phase adjust unless I do it at the coils.   With quad flip flops I'm thinking I can combine the long output of a Johnson counter with the overall counting action of a regular register.  Each pphase would be it's own Johnson configuration and it will sequence through them.  74AC175 has both normal and inverted output to allow this sort of setup.  They also run at high freq - 100+ MHZ - so very fast transision times - low ns.  Phase can be adjusted easily between the FF phase sections with RC or LC methods which I can't do with the 4017.  (Poor Man's TPU controller.)   I wound my DC magnetic bias coil on a cardboards core so that I can slip it over the entire ring.  It is twice as tall as the ring and I can adjust it up and down - not that this will make a difference - just want to get a good straight vector of magnetic bias across the ring.  (Yeah, could have gone Helmhotz with it.)   I do have a few picture - need to download them off the camera and post.  Kinda wanted to wait until it is actually running, which will take less than an hour but I need the free time.

weeks.  so late nites at work  has been the norm. Open a glass plant and
you'll never be board hahahaha!  I'm going to the hardware store in the
morrning and have to be in the plant for a few hours, Then I'm going to sit down to the TPU bizzz and get that winding on my smaller unit, and possabile
the other wining. I'm really exited to just see what it looks like and get to play around with those 2 windings. I know this one is not the real thing but who knows it just might work ! any who good luck and thank you -your doing a great job being the glue in the group and always look forward to getting your Emails .

I am having modem problems, and my computer is in the shop.  That is why the slow posting of this weeks build update.  Sorry about that.

Our cores should be arriving this week!!  I would encourage precision over speed in the winding of your core.  I would also remind everyone in the Northern Hemisphere to make sure that you wrap the coils CCW from Top to Bottom. 

Eldarion and I have decided to add the Top, Bottom and Inner longitudinal windings to our cores, in case Bob's experiment works and there is output from these.  I would encourage all of you to do the same.  If it works, you will regret not having it and will want to wind another one.  On the other hand, if it does not work,  there is nothing lost, just some extra wire left there. 

We have also decided to wrap 6 primaries, and not just three, because we will want to also experiment with Bob's Hex controller.

Bob, we look forward to seeing your last wrapping of the primaries!  I am also adding the diagram that Bob corrected, for the coil connections, to both the build page and the .PDF

At this moment I am soldering together 4 x DDS 20 function generator
boards(kits) for Ward to be shipped out to California on Saturday morning.
I wanted to make sure they are fully working to save on postage if there
is a fault.
I am part way through the design of a -5V inverter board for the DDS 20.
When the artwork is complete, that will be 6 boards for Ward, 1 for
Roberto and 3 for myself.
Size wise, they are 15mm x 42mm and all surface mounted.
It allows a single +12v supply for the DDS 20.
I now have all the logic chips, drivers, mosfets and 2 cores so once I
have the DDS 20's into cases I can started winding and testing.
Sorry that progress is slow but I am getting there.

Ward:
Working on FET Driver Bds.  Working on GAL timing Vs uCntrlr.  Seeing
that tp900 is ready.  Buying enough components to make various other
pulsers in case desired.  Awaiting DDS 20's and donuts.

I seek making sweepable F1 from 12X derived 4X / 2X, so only one CLK
source needed.  For now, 2 DDS 20's will be used, one just for 1X.

Will ship your donut as soon as received.  Will use BB's wax and save
Dr's High-temp Encalpsulating Resin for post BBtpu variations.  Otto
warns this thing will get very very hot... and probably melt all that
wax it seems.

Dingus Mungus (Chris)-
I'm still just ordering parts listed by yourself or BB. I plan on doing no controller design as I plan to build the "hex controller" hinted at earlier in the thread. My goal here is to validate that BB's torroid and driver works in his given configuration, and then I will be devoting my time to quantifying the CoP and independently validating his work. In my research I'm working on the telsa wireless broadcast right now, but need to start work on a new driving circuit soon. I need to get in contact with camster about his demo unit I think...

I want to comment on the next stage of our replication, research and development.  For one thing, you will want to keep a log of experiments.  Some do this and some do not.  This way, if an experiment is either successful or not, it will be noted in great detail.  This will help others to replicate it, or to skip the identical experiment and not waste time.

Also, ANY changes to the Bob B. build of your core, please make a note.  Example, if I wind with 50 turns on each primary, and you wind with 30, we need to note this for comparison sake. 

Remember the safety warnings.  Do not fear, but simply be wise and excercise common sense.  If there are storm cloud overhead, await another time.

Eldarion is in the process of coding and
manufacturing a three-phase sine wave generator with high-impedance
outputs.  It will be another pluggable module, so we can swap it out for
the pulse generator if need be, but we are starting to think that open-ended
sine waves will make for wonderful experimenting, given all of SM's emphasis on frequency purity.

Once that is done, Eldarion will probably issue another release of the software
and schematics (timetable 2-3 weeks).

Cores have been shipped via Fed Ex and should be to Bruce Monday or Tuesday...  ;D

Completed a wooden bird table this evening,fixed hole in garage roof, doing a car boot

While everyone is waiting for their cores I have two sitting on my window sill as
ornaments waiting for my function generator and divider circuits to be completed.

Committments at work mean I have to use up my spare time to get the work cleared - talk about flogging a willing horse.  You work hard to do a good job - in my case its PHP/MySql web based applications and you end up lumbered with twice as much work as those around you.

else happened to turn down a pvc length for hotwax xfer of the ID?  I've
no budget left for a lath till next month.  Have ye light bolt rods?  I
know Ben Frank'n said iron, NOT copper, and would have used iron even if
he had cu rods.

Back from vacation.  He posts all pictures and descriptions on his thread. ?Lord of the Rings?.  I have my controller done and have driven the ECD with single freq at 30k. I pull 3.8 amps. I am working with Roberto and the ECD PDF for initial setup to go further.

I also am setting up 2 ezflow loops each with a companion loop of stranded CU. These wing edge assemblies will face each other vertically just like the SM17. I will drive both with the controller and 2 stun guns for massive RE generation. We shall see.

I am also planning to put the GK4 on the new controller just for grins.  I want that hi-speed spinning magnetic interference.  These things all take time. Other irons in the fire.

Managed to measure the pulser circuit and found what I was expecting:

pulse width about 10 nsec
rise and fall times in the lower nsec range.

Only had 3 hours of sleep the night before so shut everything done when I saw things were good.  Will continue measuring this week-end and publish the scope screen shots and test set-up in Earl's corner.

Will see if I can manage to also test the FET driver circuit with no load and see how it looks.

I have received 2 cores and all wire except magnet wire.  Awaiting magnet wire and third core from another builder.  Will be winding coils the second I lay my hands on the magnet wire.

I ordered 16 ga magnet wire for longitudinal. After discussing with Jason, I am switching to 20 ga. So I am ordering 20 ga wire. Will start winding after long weekend. Phil is same.

I have caught up with my work at work now so I should be able to etch

Mainly the "Race to zero point" and what this seems to show backs up
what we are trying to achieve with the TPU.
We are immersed in a sea of endless energy that cannot be seen or used
normally because it is all at the same level. One of the quotes was,
"how do you measure the weight of a beaker of water when it is immersed
under water?"
So by creating a vortex in the ether by applying a rotating magnetic
field we can create an ether/energy density difference that can then be
tapped.

Just finishing up my move... I'll have a lot more space for my lab now! I'm very excited to get started with the new cores.

Ward -
I'm working on various pulsers and pwm for more harmonics experiments
while I wait for my solid wire... and the switching power supply for
Bias.  I am wanting to use bifilar windings on BBtpu, but am thinking
I'd better do the first toroid exactly as Bob shows.

I am hooked on Delta Functions high-pass
with loaded diode follower for perfect pulse and ability to tweak out
the ring with impedence matching.  I see the max amplitude sweet spot in
the F-cut-off about a decade higher than ring frequency.  Only problem
is needing a wider pulse.. if really needed.  Anything else has that
crummy ring and no good way to quell it I see so far besides line
matching.  Big high voltage pulses are easy but they ring.  High-power
high-pass pondering now.  Only overshoot component makes it beyond Delta
Function high-pass... not the DC square wave pulse.  I still have to
connect my Spectrum Analyzer to confirm that the high-pass needs 50%
duty cycle in order to get all harmonics in phase and at same ampilitude
as fundamental.   The text only shows the 25% d-c having diminishing
harmonics, but without the high-pass connected also.  I will see.

here. Anyway, my oscilloscope is a bit f'ed up, and my whole room ISN'T in
my room anymore, lol, meaning everything is in boxes and awaiting insurance
$ and new carpeting... Took the insurance guys almost a week to come out,
due to all the calims in the midwest, it is crazy. The good news, I might be
getting some nice replacement $ for my scopes and shit, hence, potential
brand new equipment to use ;)... So, not really a 'good' update, but an
update nonetheless...

My name is Edward. I'm a long time reader of the forum and have been actively following the Steven Mark and TPU based research and experiments for some time now. I have been researching alt energy applications for the last 6-7 years and attempting experiments/replications for the last 2-3. My last experiments I have worked on was the Rotoverter technology which I acheived many similar anomolous phenomenon being reported with TPU research, including, but not limited to weight fluctiuations, overunity states, and one scary runaway condition that I thanked the Lord I had prepared a mechanical braking setup for just that type of situation. I discontinued further research into that line of research regardless of the positive results after experiencing the danger in using powerful mechanical forces coupled with and in addition to the already powerful EM forces occuring. In addition, the bulk of the setup also convinced me to find a more light weight and smaller sized alternative for some of the interesting applications that this technology will bring in the future.

I have always been one who tends to read and soak up all information, then experiment, before they post, however I found myslef signing up when reading about the Bob Boyce replications that are being done. I've always been a huge fan... he is truly an inspiring man and have always followed his postings around the different sites with great interest. I have read his postings here and at other ou sites and have always marveled at his ability to communicate complex concepts and applications very simply. While I never attempted any of his hydroxy research because of my desire to tap that engergy directly, I knew he always shared that desire and he hinted many times that the source and "secret" of that power harnessing lay in the pulsing of multi-frequencies through a toroid core. There were so many similarities to what I have always read in his posts and what you were doing here that it was truly an inspiration to see him join here and begin contributing to the board!

Alas, just as I siliently hunkered down for the barage of new knowledge that would be generated from the coloboration of this incredibly intelligent group here and Bob's additional inputs, it was wisely decided to be made private. So, I would like to humbly ask that I may be considered to join the group as well. I am very civilized and respectful individual and it is doubtful you will hear much from me that isn't directly related to replcation observations... which is without doubt, my primary focus at this time: replication. I tend to not be much of a theorizer, and primarily a get my hands dirty type of guy, as I really don't understand much until after I get in there and fumble around... and maybe just a wee bit afterwards ;-). However, I'm not a complete neophyte to electronics, having built and repaired a few of my own tube amplifiers and my most recent work with the RV project. So please, do not consider me a liability, I will do all in my power to contribute to the project... being a c++ programmer in "real life", and owning a custom cnc mill which i built for my hobbies and projects, I humbly offer these services to the group in the future if ever needed.

Most of the updates were given by telephone conference Friday evening.  This was recorded and I have asked that the recording be posted as soon as possible, for those who missed it.  This coming Friday evening is our Bob Boyce phone/Skype conference.  I have asked that this also be recorded and posted.  I have asked Jason to continue to moderate and organize these, since he does such a good job at it!   ;)  Thank you Jason!!  Though we will be adding some "protocol" to the conference, to keep it organized and to make sure that everyone wanting to ask a question, is recognized.

JT is EE in our group here. He wrote a book that talks about many OU devices. He even experienced "electricity snake" that followed him around with a few witnesses. Kinda like Bob talked about electronic signature that drew lightening. JT says the samething too.

Wound 1st 3 20 AWG Mag wire surfaces and have only inner bore to go while waiting for that 16AWG relay from manu'... no direct ship that qty.  Got my Skycraft 20 solid AgCu though.  Working on pulsing experiments and will try to go low power 50% DC square waves without FET driver Bds 1st. I'm going discrete HCT FF's and gates 1st Vs the GAL or uCntrlr.

I do work for the power company and part of my work is welding and machine ship services. I have designed and built wind turbines that are slow speed. I enjoy most technical subjects and do some reading in the technical fields. I am looking to make a TPU.

Sorting out knobs and hardware in general to put together the DDS 20
into its case.
To-do:
Re-do of the layout for the inverter board to make use of existing
components on the board instead of removing them.
Tests to carry out:
The experiment that Dr Mark Snoswell did with a toroidal core with a
magnetic biased winding with say 4A DC input, non-inductive winding with
50% square wave input of a range of frequencies, and a moveable probe
coil to locate the various nodes positions.
This I think is important to establish a basic working model of
magnaccoustic waves.
Next step, as Dr Snoswell said, is to replace the static magnetic bias
with a pulse bias coil going around the core completely. The same with
the second non-inductive coil, this  will go around the core. The idea
being to get the nodes to rotate from their stationary position.

I live in North Texas where I work as an Equipment Engineer for a photomask company. I gradutated college in 92 which there after did a very short stint in the Marines, went on to work at Texas Instruments, MEMC and Photronics. At every place I have always been involved with repair, maintenance, modification, and design of equipment (electronic and hardware). I am also married with two young children and two dogs... I just completed building our new house back in December. When I say built I mean I did what I was physically able to do, like all the plumbing, electrical, trim work, tile work, landscaping and so on.

Hey Guys,

I have unlocked this thread.  Each of you not having your own thread, can now post updates directly to this thread.  Enough builders now have their own threads to post active updates on, and this "second generation" of builders may post here.  We will all be looking to here how things are going with your build and hoping to share experimental notes when that time comes.

My time is very limited, needing to yet wind another coil, and knowing how time consuming it is.  So I will be doing that, rather than spending time posting for you.

Ward here; I have placed solid wire 6 Prime's side by side, 30 turns each, .65 mH or .64mH each.  Anybody found the perfect spacer for the Primaries yet?  I am having trouble with even rough spacing because the Secondary windings peaks and valleys want to guide the Primaries where they will and Prime's are very tight.  I should have loaded up the faces with wax even if it does melt out later.  Also, I should have used different color tape every other segment to mark them Vs felt pen which wears off.  My Primes do not all resonate the same frequency yet because of spacing and some crossed leads as I have taped them temoparily I think.  At least I did find Primary resonance  less than 1MHz now.  I know from laying experimental side by side wires, inter-woven Primaries before this, that measuring the CCW end of Prime' being driven from CW end is really very accurate, (where the isolated twin's CCW end measures same as when CCW end of the Prime being driven from CW end is measured).   So this is how I measure resonance now.  Feedback anybody?  Since I got hung up on the resonant frequencies before this, while experimenting with different Primary # turns and fills, here is my first resonace data in case it helps.
Primary data before perfect spacing:
1) .65mH (all same), 1.1 Ohm (all same), 781KHz
2) 781KHz
3) 877KHz
4) 892KHz
5) 781KHz
6) 746KHz
I see other weaker res points above these, Prime' #4 for example has also 1.19MHz, or 1.33x the fundamental.
Thanks to Wer for posting the Boyce / Patrick Kelly pdf who's Pg 28 explains what Bob means by "The HV Bias along with # turns on Secondary determine optimum Primary winding ratio".   Since I will first use rectified 110VAC for 155V pulsing DC, I also aim for 25% of that amount of potential to be across load (even though DC blocked).   My Secondary is 129 turns, my Prime's are 30 turns, so ratio is 1:4, telling me drive electronics shall drive Primes using 10VDC so that 4x step up equals 25% of target HV Bias that is on Secondary.  It seems I can increase HV Bias simultaneous with Primary driving voltage to preserve these ratios and get more potential across the load.  Next task is to make the GAL to divide the Clocks.  I will purchase the $87 HVPS Model SM10 from http://www.gammahighvoltage.com/html/contact_us.htm so that I can get higher Bias voltages.  Note this unit's max Amps is 250uA, so the DC Blockig Cap better not leak, else I'll need next model down that only goes to 500VDC vs 1000VDC

Started Bias windings, finished all but the inner one. I have primary winding wire coming in this week along with sample chips ordered to Texas Insturments. I don't expect to get much done this week coming up since I will be out of town most of the week on vacation.

   Have finally settled in on a choice for the driving frequencies. All parts in house so to build. I find that opto isolating the signal inputs to the driviers makes my individual signals steady not to mention a ground cap over each section. More to come.

HI Everyone,

I'm heading for the home stretch on my DDS controller. I've got just about all the schematics finished for the card wit the AD9959 and supporting hardware on it. But I'm running into another brick wall trying to find an appropriate clock generator to run the chip. I need one that runs on 1.8V and has a frequency of at least 100MHz (with low jitter). The challenge at this point is finding a chip that I can actually buy somewhere without getting 1000 minimum. If anyone has any ideas, I would definitely be open for some help as this is the only thing slowing me down. Once I find the right part, I would like to finish the board layout and get the first PCBs for this ordered.
